Senior Manager for Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Sub-Category Lead
The Senior Manager for Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) sub-category lead plays a crucial role in guiding the technology procurement strategy by integrating feedback from SRMs and stakeholders to create a unified approach within their sub-category. This position is essential for selecting and managing suppliers that meet specific technology and pricing goals, ensuring a balance of competition and innovation among them.
Key Objectives:
* Receive inputs from SRMs and other stakeholders to form technology (sub-category) strategy
* Drive the right suppliers for target technology and price
* Make decisions on technology (sub-category)
* Manage supplier commercial escalation and relationships
* Provide commercial expertise in technology and supply capacity
* Foster positive tension and competition between suppliers
* Pursue and conduct global annual price negotiations
* Support the sourcing board in supplier selection
* Contribute to early Program Team cost discussions based on cost calculations/market investigations
* Ensure supplier quotations meet customer/engineering specifications
* Perform reverse-cost-engineering calculations
* Work with Cost-Data-Tool for pricing analysis
* Align the supplier strategy with commodity and feedback to the program teams
* Challenge the supply base in terms of pricing and competition
* Challenge the program teams in terms of specification requirements and timing
* Engage with finance and sales in creating overall commercial transparency for business case analysis
* Establish first contacts with new suppliers, including NDA alignment with the legal department
* Contribute to Year-over-Year expectations in alignment with annual target expectations
* Maintain strong alignment with Engineering, Sales, and Operations
* Promote critical thinking: Challenge suppliers and stakeholders
Key Performance Indicators:
* Contribute to annual corporate savings target
* Achieve strong performance on non-saving objectives, such as supplier claim recovery and payment days
* Support best-in-class cost and quality through platform strategy, design-to-cost, and structured negotiations
* Facilitate supplier issue resolution
* Integrate SJ pursuit and program support
* Develop SEP for new supplier engagement, supporting both current and new product portfolios
* Learn Visteon, Suppliers, and technology
* Understand and document product platform architectures
* Summarize commodity market outlook
* Develop relationships with global stakeholders and key suppliers
* Take the lead on global negotiations, grow experience, and respect
* Report out and present to Senior Management
* Provide leadership to the procurement team in the commodity
Qualification, Experience, and Skills:
* 10 years of working experience (Cost-engineering/procurement) in a cross-functional team organization
* Proven ability to lead teams, demonstrating adeptness in fostering collaboration and providing clear direction
* Market knowledge of direct products in Commodity
* Overall experience in procurement procedures and activities
* Proven track record of negotiations (supplier/customer)
* Supplier audit performance knowledge, including value stream analysis, is desirable
* High level of commercial acumen combined with a precise and careful way of working
* Passion for technology and investigation of undiscovered potential in design or supplier base
* Capability to stay focused and calm in a demanding business environment
* Strong communicator who is fluent in English (writing and speaking)
