Vice President, Global Design (Dickies)

As the senior creative design leader for the Dickies brand, you’ll be part of the VF Design community, accountable for establishing the design vision, long-term strategies, and visual standards across the global product categories. You will define and oversee the overall design strategy that creates an emotional connection with our consumers and delivers on our business plan and financial targets.
You will lead the product creation and Go-to-Market processes, in collaboration with the Global Merchandising and Marketing leaders, to design inspirational, industry-leading, high-quality technical and innovative products with an authentic brand DNA. With a track record in managing successful creative design teams and providing dynamic, visible, inspirational leadership, you’ll be the creative force that drives our product strategies and the brand’s long-term growth.
As a trusted and collaborative member of our global leadership team, you will report to the Global Brand President, Dickies. You’ll lead the Global Apparel Design teams, including Men’s, Women’s, Kids’, Creative, Color Material and Trends, and Design Operations.
How You Will Make a Difference
What you will do:
* Champion a global brand design philosophy aligned to the Brand DNA for all product categories to inform both the current and long-term design approach for Dickies.
* Define and lead the global, Work and Lifestyle product strategy and direction, including brand aesthetics and visual standards to drive competitive market advantage and business growth.
* Lead the Go-to-Market process in collaboration with Global Merchandising and Global Marketing leaders to define seasonal strategies and creative concepts, trend and color strategy, and big ideas to achieve seasonal targets, timelines, and consumer demand.
* Lead, inspire and motivate teams of design professionals to achieve business initiatives and goals while developing their skills and building talent succession.
* Collaborate on the product creation budget to deliver on financial targets and KPI’s including gross margin, SKU complexity, global commonality, product sell-through.
* As part of the broader VF Design Community, be an inspiration and collaborative leader whose influences and elevates design throughout the organization.

* Foster and maintain collaborative partnerships with the Global Merchandising leader to develop compelling product stories and collaborations and the Global Marketing leader to establish and drive key brand strategies, the brand creative vision, and market strategies to drive big ideas and newness to ensure continued innovation and brand elevation.
* Attract and develop design professionals to enhance individual growth and build a talent pipeline to ensure the future success of all brands within the VF enterprise.
* Through actions and example, ensure that VF’s values, including inclusion, diversity, social and environmental stewardship, are fully incorporated into business strategies and interactions.

Skills for Success
Years of Related Professional Experience: 15 years or more of progressive experience with five to seven years of managerial experience.
Educational Position Requirements: Formal education and subsequent undergraduate/graduate degrees, such as a master’s or bachelor’s degree, preferably in Design and Fashion, or a related field, are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.

* Leading and managing a global design team.

Hiring Range:$293,760.00 USD - $367,200.00 USD annually.
Incentive Potential: This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential. Specific details of the additional compensation eligibility for this position will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
Long-Term Incentive Potential: This position is eligible to participate in a Long-Term Incentive Plan. Specific details of the plan will be provided during the recruiting and interview process.
