Sidel is looking for a Shipping Agent for its global Logistics & Transports team. Based in our Portuguese site in Santa Maria da Feira, you will join a team of 2 and participate in all logistics, customs, and transport operations for our Portuguese site. Our Santa Maria da Feira site in Portugal is one of our main production centres. It specializes in the manufacture of conveyors and packaging equipment, thus contributing to our mission of providing high-quality solutions to our customers all over the world. This site is equipped with the latest technologies and offers a stimulating working environment.
Your MissionThe role is focused on managing all aspects of logistics, customs, and transport for both inbound and outbound shipments. Nevertheless, we are looking for a customs expert to join the team.
Core responsibilities include ensuring compliance with import/export customs regulations, coordinating with carriers to schedule deliveries, preparing and verifying necessary shipping documentation, and tracking shipments to guarantee timely delivery.
The team works closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to optimize shipping routing, minimize costs, and address any issues related to damaged or delayed shipments.
Additionally, they monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as delivery accuracy, lead time, and shipping costs to continually improve service quality and efficiency.
Act as the key contact person for Project Management, shipping, and Sales Admin departments, export shipments during the execution phase of the Complete Lines projects, Stand Alone and Upgrade.
Act as the key contact person for transport & packing coordination projects for Equipment Complete Lines, Stand Alone, and Upgrade.
Ensure the respect of guidelines and rules about the Logistics and fiscal Sidel flows on the execution shipment.
Check offers from logistics suppliers and issue Purchase Requests in SAP.
Issue all the Shipping Documentation properly for each execution shipment.
Your ProfileMaster Degree or equivalent;Management Engineering or Business Administration or Transportation and Technology;English: Proficiency in English is typically essential, as it is the primary language of international shipping and logistics;Additional Languages:Knowledge of other languages can be beneficial, especially in our company that deals with international clients or suppliers.Common languages that may be advantageous include Spanish, Mandarin, French, or German, depending on the regions the company operates in.Required experience and skills:
2 years working experience in the shipping department of a multinational company or in the operations department of a freight forwarder.
