This role is responsible for ensuring that all company operations comply with local and international safety and environmental standards.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in promoting a healthy, safe, and sustainable working environment, minimizing hazards, risks, and environmental impacts.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitoring and Evaluation: Conduct regular site inspections to identify and assess safety and environmental risks.
* Legal Compliance: Ensure the company complies with all applicable safety and environmental laws and regulations.
* Training: Develop and deliver training programs on safe working practices and environmental awareness for employees.
* Incident/Accident Investigation: Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrences.
* Waste Management: Oversee waste management, ensuring proper disposal and recycling in accordance with environmental guidelines.
* Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports on safety and environmental issues for local and international management.
* Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the company's safety and environmental processes.
Minimum Qualifications
* Academic Qualifications: Technical certification (CAP) Level VI or higher in Occupational Safety, Environmental Engineering, or related areas.
* Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, as well as other relevant regulations.
* Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and strong attention to detail.
* Language: Professional level of English.
* Proactivity: Ability to identify problems and propose solutions before they become critical.
* Adaptability: Flexibility to deal with changes and new challenges.
* Ethics: Commitment to the company's compliance practices and social responsibility.
