Service Chapter Lead (Director)

We are looking for an inspiring leader to join our team as Service Chapter Lead to support our growing business. As a member of the Diagnostics Enabling Team in Portugal, reporting to the General Manager, your mission is to lead the Service and Workflow & IT organization to deliver outstanding customer experience and continuous efficiency improvements, to the benefit of patients, customers and Roche. By leading and developing a highly professional, engaged and customer focused team, you will ensure successful execution of vision and strategy, drive optimal business performance and foster a motivated working environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and ensure implementation of local Service and Workflow & IT vision and strategies aligned with local, regional and global strategies and priorities, defining differentiated service models that are fit-for-purpose for the Portuguese market.
2. Foster cross functional working and collaboration between different areas of the organization, namely, Business Strategy, Commercial and Finance chapters.
3. Develop, evaluate and implement strategies to identify opportunities to improve our service delivery. Focus on continuous improvement across all areas of the work, foster learning/experimentation, establish standards and build on best practices for Service and Application areas.
4. Leverage regional learnings and adopt best practices within the Portuguese market. Connect and align with colleagues within and outside of Roche Diagnostics Portugal.
5. Establish roadmap for evolution and change management, including building functional expertise, skills, and capabilities required within the chapter.
6. Ensure efficient execution, cost management, and proper alignment across the strategic priorities.
7. Inspire, motivate, coach and develop people and teams to boldly innovate, collaborate and create outcomes that matter for patients, customers and the company.
8. Enable and drive transformation towards agility and digitalization, advocating for new ways of working and shaping a learning mindset.
9. Recruit, develop and retain talent.
Who you are
10. You are a Business Leader with a proven track record in a strategic leadership role and with management experience in the Diagnostic industry with a solid understanding of laboratory medicine, customers, contract structures and financial implications.
11. You are an experienced People Leader, preferably with experience in leading leaders, who excels at bringing people together around a shared vision while also fully empowering & holding their team accountable.
12. You are able to lead and motivate a team that works remotely at customers the majority of the time.
13. You have a solid customer orientation showing ability to actively listen and understand our customers’ current and future needs.
14. You are strongly focused on delivery & execution whilst having a strong strategic mindset and high analytical skills.
15. You are able to take a well thought idea and ensure execution connecting the dots between market/stakeholder needs and Roche Diagnostics solution.
16. You are a team player (us before I) and a networker, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating the ability to interact and make an impact in a matrix organizational structure.
17. With a growth mindset, you are willing to embrace agile ways of working and participate in squads, as necessary.
18. As a people leader, you build up the right capabilities and people, equipping them with tools and skills to deliver functional excellence and results and you are a strong advocate and practitioner of agile leadership, leadership commitments and VACC (Visionary - Architect - Catalyst - Coach).
19. Preferably you hold a Phd, and/or MBA degree.
20. Proficiency in both Portuguese and English are strongly preferred.
21. Availability to travel around the country as required.
