Professor Ana Maria Cunha Ribeiro dos Santos Ponces Camanho, Full Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, and Vice-Rector of the same University:
Be it known that, by my order dated March 27, 2025, under the delegated authority of Order No. 9493/2022, a documentary competition for an Assistant Professor for the disciplinary area of Exact Sciences, to work in the Chemistry Department of the Abel Salazar Biomedical Sciences Institute of this University, is hereby opened.
1. Requirements for Administrative Admission to the Competition
Only holders of a Ph.D. degree may be admitted to this competition.
If the doctorate was awarded by a foreign higher education institution, it must be recognised by a Portuguese higher education institution.
2. Approval in Absolute Merit
A candidate is considered approved in absolute merit if approved by an absolute majority of the voting jury members.
The approval of candidates on absolute merit will depend on the following requirements necessary for the development of scientific and pedagogical activity in the disciplinary area:
1. Hold a doctoral degree in Chemistry or related areas, with special relevance to Bioinorganic Chemistry in Health Sciences;
2. Have a relevant scientific curriculum in Bioinorganic Chemistry in Health Sciences;
3. Demonstrate scientific autonomy, presenting at least 25 articles published in scientific journals with an impact factor, being first or corresponding author in at least 10;
4. Relevant scientific experience in areas where Bioinorganic Chemistry is applied to Health Sciences;
5. Experience in supervising/co-supervising students in related areas.
3. Evaluation and Ranking in Relative Merit
Candidates approved in absolute merit will be ranked in relative merit based on the aspects and criteria of ranking.
4. Submission of Applications
Applications must be accompanied by the following documents:
1. Doctoral certificate;
2. Curriculum Vitae;
3. Work mentioned in the curriculum;
4. Scientific and Pedagogical Career Development Plan.
5. Notifications
The Human Resources Service of the University of Porto will notify candidates of the administrative admission or non-admission decision.
6. Composition of the Jury
President: Professor Henrique José Cyrne de Castro Machado Carvalho.
Members include professors from various institutions.
