A call for tenders is open for one Scholarship for a master degree holder within the scope of the project "Vine & Wine- Driving Sustainable Growth Through Smart Innovation" (sub-project – B6.3 PPP4Vine), ref. cand67-ACC02/CO5-i01/2022, financed by national funds through "Recovery and Resilience Program (PRR) funded by the "Mobilizing Agendas for Business Innovation", under the following conditions:

Admission requirements:
Master's degree in Biotechnology.Laboratory and field research experience.Work experience and/or research in soil collection and soil analysis.Knowledge and application of molecular biology techniques.Have at least one publication in ISI/Scopus.As set forth FCT Research Scholarship Regulation No. 950/2019 of December 16, 2019, article 3 and 6, candidates for "BI" (Research Grants) must comply as a rule condition for the award of the scholarship, the effective inclusion in study cycles leading to the attribution of academic degrees or in courses not leading to an academic degree.
Work plan:
Collection of soil and plant samples for microbiome analysis.DNA extraction from soil and plant.Evaluation, quantification, and analysis of nucleic acids.PCR amplification (end-point and real-time).Metagenomic and bioinformatics analysis of sequences.Statistical analysis of results.Writing of articles for the dissemination of obtained results.The final goal of this work is to evaluate the influence of new phytopharmaceuticals on the community of phytopathogenic microorganisms in vine plants and in soil, in order to understand the interaction of these molecules in the microbiome of plants and soil.
Place of work: The work will be developed at the Laboratory of Plant Virology, MED, of the University of Évora, under the general coordination of the Administrator of the University of Évora and the scientific guidance of Professor Maria do Rosário Félix.
Duration of the scholarship: The scholarship will have a duration of 09 months, starting in May of 2025. The scholarship contract may be renewed until the end of the funding project's budget allocation.

Advertising/notification of results: The final results of the evaluation will be publicized through an alphabetically ordered list posted in a visible and public place belonging to MED, being the candidate approved notified through email.
Application deadline and submission of applications: The tender is open from 24 of March to 08 of April of 2025 and the results of the selection will be published by 11 of April of 2025.
Applications must be formalized, obligatorily, by sending an application letter with the following documents: Curriculum Vitae, certificates of qualifications, two recommendation letters, and one motivation letter.
For the purposes of application, the evidence may be replaced by a declaration of honor signed by the candidate, but the failure to demonstrate that evidence, in the contracting phase, possession of the required degree on the deadline for application or the non-presentation of proof of enrollment in the study cycle or non-degree course, for scholarships with this component, imply the cancellation of the candidate's application.
Academic degrees obtained in foreign countries require registration by a Portuguese Institution in accordance with Decree-Law no. 66/2018, of August 16 and Ordinance No. 33/2019, of January 25th.
