Role Overview
The Design Team Lead is responsible for mentoring team members, managing tasks, liaising with stakeholders, and driving recruitment and performance reviews to foster a high-performing design team.

Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Facilitation
o Define tasks clearly, provide regular project updates, and facilitate problem-solving discussions to enable the team of designers to focus their bandwidth on the creation of exceptional products with well-defined requirements.
o Participate in recruitment efforts, including reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and supporting onboarding plans.
o Conduct constructive quarterly reviews for team members and provide upward feedback to leadership.
2. Organization & Planning
o Collaborate with Business Leadership to establish and maintain efficient development processes, timelines, and workflows that enhance team productivity and ensure timely project delivery.
o Create, manage, and assign tickets in Linear to streamline task tracking and accountability within the team.
3. Communication & Reporting
o Partner with Business Leadership to collaborate with cross-functional teams and deliver regular progress updates to stakeholders and upper management.
o Communicate roadblocks and delays transparently, providing well-reasoned explanations and solutions.
4. Technical Oversight
o Offer technical guidance and support to team members, ensuring that the team adopts best practices and tools for design excellence.
o Collaborate closely with Engineering teams to align on technical requirements and ensure seamless integration across disciplines.
5. Troubleshooting & Support
o Foster team collaboration to identify and resolve technical challenges.
o Promote a culture where challenges are viewed as learning opportunities rather than failures.
6. Continuous Improvement
o Advocate for ongoing enhancements to processes, workflows, and tools.
o Stay informed about emerging design technologies and integrate relevant advancements as appropriate.
