We are a leading maritime services provider committed to delivering high-quality and reliable services to our clients. We are currently seeking a proactive and self-motivated Ship Agency Operator to join our team at the Port of Sines.
Purpose of the Role:
The Ship Agency Operator will be responsible for attending all vessels within their scope of responsibility, ensuring compliance with work processes, standards, and procedures. Special attention will be given to the correct, accurate, and timely use of the operating system.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Attend and board vessels as required, in accordance with our SOP and customer requirements.
2. Coordinate effectively assigned port calls and provide advice on contractor selection for goods and services.
3. Ensure compliance with Port Services processes, standards, and procedures, including the correct use of our operating system.
4. Monitor vessels, handle follow-up enquiries, and establish and maintain vessel files.
5. Ensure proactive, efficient, and timely communication at all times.
6. Report business opportunities and relevant port updates to the Manager.
7. Monitor and record expenses during vessels' port calls, ensure cost-effective vessel operations, and comply with Personal Protective Equipment Standard.
8. Provide input to improve the operational and cost efficiency of the port call.
Accountabilities:
The successful candidate will be measured against ensuring a consistent high level of accuracy in deliverables and meeting or exceeding annual KPIs targets for Port Services performance.
Required experience and skills:
9. Maritime background and experience in Ships Agency Operations.
10. Good communication skills and command of the English language.
11. Process and system understanding.
12. Self-motivated, result-oriented, and proactive.
13. Ability to work under pressure and problem-solving skills.
14. Familiarity with Port & local Authorities regulations, procedures, and governing tariffs.
15. Computer literate.
