Job Summary:
We are seeking a telephonic interpreter for Chuukese to facilitate language communication for the Limited English Proficient (LEP) community in various settings, including medical, legal, and customer service.
Responsibilities:
* Provide effective telephonic remote interpreting
* Answer inbound calls in a timely manner
* Deliver superior customer service
* Maintain confidentiality and adhere to a strict Code of Professional Conduct
* Follow all policies and procedures, including professional interpretation protocols and industry best practices
* Participate in ongoing Quality Assurance monitoring and complete required training(s)
Qualifications:
* Fluency in both English and Chuukese languages
* Proficiency in technology, including web-based platforms, email, and Microsoft Word
* A quiet, secure, and noise-free interpreting space with landline phone access
* At least 2 years of professional interpreting experience preferred
* Industry-specific certifications or trainings preferred (CMI, CCHI, etc.)
* Proof of 40+ hour medical interpreting training preferred (e.g., Bridging the Gap, Cross-Cultural, etc.)
