Offer Description CALL FOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP
The University of Coimbra opens a call for one research fellowship, in the framework of the project "CiNTech - Technological Hub for Innovation, Translation and Industrialization of Complex Injectable Drugs" (reference: 7131), financed by the PRR - Recovery and Resilience Plan and by the Next Generation EU Funds.
Scientific area: Chemical and Biological Engineering, Pharmaceutical Technology, Process Systems Engineering, Industrial Process Analytics or related areas.
Skills/Qualifications/Admission requirements: Master's degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering, Pharmaceutical Technology, Process Systems Engineering, Industrial Process Analytics or related areas, enrolled in a PhD or a non-degree course.
Although the recipients must be enrolled in a cycle of studies leading to an academic degree or in a course not conferring an academic degree, at the time of application it is not necessary for the candidate to have made such an enrollment. Proof of enrollment must be presented until the fellowship is contractualized.
Work plan/Objectives: This work plan falls in the scope of the creation of a new technological innovation hub, called CinTech, dedicated to the innovation, translation, and industrialization of complex injectable pharmaceutical products. The process engineering team will work on mathematical modeling, formulation design, process design and scale-up, PAT development & chemometrics, and process control & optimization.
The MSc Researcher (MR) will collaborate in testing several PAT approaches for assessing CQAs and develop chemometric models for monitoring the various stages of the production process of complex structured drug products.
The MR researcher will also develop hybrid models for the mixing processes and test their accuracy, contributing to the development of formulations and being involved in Quality by Design (QbD) preliminary studies.
The results obtained will be reported in 1 Technical Report and 1-2 scientific papers.
Regime: The attribution of the fellowship does not generate a legal-labour relationship, and the fellowship is undertaken in an exclusive dedication regime.
Location: Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Coimbra.
Duration: 6 (six) months.
Financial conditions: The amount of the fellowship is €1.259,64 corresponding to the monthly compensation stipulated in the FCT table, plus social security and personal accidents insurance.
