Mission of the Role: To establish a partnership with our European Commercial team to meticulously oversee all financial facets of the business unit. This entails crafting comprehensive financial business cases for new business prospects and fostering effective engagement with cross-functional teams including engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing to articulate roadmaps aimed at cost improvement and enhanced returns throughout the product lifecycle. On a daily basis, the role maintains program financials up to date, thereby ensuring the sustained financial health and success of the business unit.
Key Objectives of this Role:
1. Lead finance for a customer CBU and be a business partner to the Commercial Lead
2. Support and maintain program financials from acquisition to SOP
3. Continuous monitoring of program financials over a lifetime; challenge assumptions to optimize profitability
4. Develop business cases with strategic focus and create roadmaps to drive higher returns through a business period
5. Present financials to senior management
6. Support customer negotiations and pricing strategy
7. Optimize commercial margins of current year impacts
8. Analyze and provide sales and commercial margin-related reporting to CBU lead, support annual budget and forecasting activities related to sales planning
9. Ensure compliance with SOX controls regarding the review and reporting of long-term pricing agreements (LTA) to ensure compliance with revenue recognition guidelines
10. Understand customer vehicle volume, industry trends, and regulations that might impact volumes and our business outcomes. Prepare claims for recoveries if customer commitments are not met.
11. Attend program meetings held by PM’s on request and support financials
Key Performance Indicators:
1. Provide financials for Gate Reviews and change evaluations in time, ahead of reviews
2. Support sales forecast and budget activities in adherence to given schedules
3. Follow up on identified risks & opps on regular basis
4. Develop strong relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders.
5. Learn Visteon, Customers, and technology. Become an effective member of the EU commercial finance team
6. Understand the financial challenges of CBU and propose appropriate ideas to grow margins
7. Efficiently make use of finance tools in place
Qualification, Experience and Skills:
1. 5-10 years of work experience in the automotive manufacturing environment
2. Finance degree, MBA preferred
3. General understanding of electronics manufacturing and quote processes
4. Understanding of manufacturing overhead cost structure and financial performance key drivers
5. Ability to successfully build working relationships, especially with plant teams, engineering, program managers and program teams
6. Ability to synthesis knowledge of customers and competition
7. Advanced skills in active listening, problem definition, problem resolution, research, analysis, and executive briefings/reporting
