Mission of the Role : Lead the design and development of high-efficiency onboard chargers (OBC) and DC-DC converters for electric vehicles.
Key Objectives of this Role:
1. Lead the design and development of high-efficiency onboard chargers (OBC) and DC-DC converters for electric vehicles.
2. Perform advanced simulations, modeling, and analysis of power electronic circuits and systems.
3. Develop and optimize sophisticated control algorithms for power conversion systems.
4. Conduct thorough testing, validation, and troubleshooting of power electronic components and systems.
5. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
6. Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and system engineers, ensuring seamless integration of power electronics into the overall EV architecture.
7. Oversee and synchronize the efforts of global engineering teams to achieve project milestones and objectives.
8. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
9. Lead design reviews, technical discussions, and project planning activities.
10. Stay updated with the latest advancements in power electronics and EV technology, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
Educational Background:
11. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering: A foundational requirement, focusing on power electronics.
12. Master's Degree or PhD: Preferably in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field, providing advanced knowledge and research experience.
Professional Experience:
13. Minimum of 7-10 years in power electronics, specifically in designing and developing power conversion systems like onboard chargers and DC-DC converters.
14. Significant experience in the automotive industry, particularly in EV powertrain systems.
15. Proven track record of managing projects from concept to production, including prototyping, testing, and troubleshooting.
16. Familiarity and proficiency with Mentor Graphics tools for circuit design and simulation.
Leadership Experience:
17. At least 3-5 years of experience leading engineering teams, demonstrating the ability to mentor, inspire, and manage team members.
18. Experience working with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, systems engineers, and software engineers.
Technical Skills:
19. Deep understanding of high-frequency magnetics, power semiconductors (SiC, GaN), thermal management, and EMI/EMC considerations.
20. Proficiency in using Mentor Graphics tools, as well as other simulation tools like SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, or similar for circuit design and analysis.
21. Experience with PCB design tools such as Mentor Graphics, Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or similar.
22. Knowledge of automotive standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 26262, UL, IEC standards) related to EV power electronics.
23. Familiarity with embedded systems and software development for control algorithms in power electronics applications.

24. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
25. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on innovative solutions for challenging design problems.
26. Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project).
27. Ability to align engineering efforts with business goals, ensuring technical solutions meet market needs.

28. Certification demonstrating proficiency in project management principles and practices.
