The Local Transfer Manager will support and ensure the success of the Machine Transfer from different countries to Portugal.
The Local Transfer Manager is responsible for supporting and leading the transfer technicians and engineers team during the transfer process of the machines. This includes the dismantling, installation, and run-in of all equipment, including test equipment and all related equipment to run production. He/she is also responsible for documenting the dismantling/installation process of the machines and maintaining a good tracking process of the transfer stages to ensure success.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform and document the technical assessment of the machines (machine knowledge, maintenance, machine documentation) and provide inputs to the GTT (Global Transfer Team) while following up on all action plans.
2. Manage the transfer team.
3. Responsible for layout design/approval for machines to be transferred, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team (QA, EHS, Facilities, and VS).
4. Work with GTT on expenses tracking and budget for the finance part of the transfer.
5. Establish forecast expenses for the transfer team, including training, travel, etc.
6. Participate in all kick-off meetings for new/relocated machines.
7. Collaborate with GTT in the unloading, movement, and installation of utilities for new machines.
8. Work closely with the Ramp-up Team and Operations Department on troubleshooting machine/process issues as necessary.
9. Represent the Local Transfer Organization in all transfer/training tasks outside the country, if required.
10. Obtain all technical knowledge and methods for new equipment (technical training and self-training).
11. Check, review, and allocate all technical documentation of the machines and ensure it is available for all FEL departments that need it.
12. Track the KPI of all transfer stages such as dismount/install/run-in/validation.
13. Define and implement necessary processes to guarantee the availability of components, resources, tools, and equipment to adhere to the promise dates of the transfer plan.
14. Create purchase orders for materials and spare parts during the installation process of the machines and track their delivery.
15. Oversee suppliers working in the transfer process and the installation of new machines.
16. Create job descriptions and training plans for all direct reports.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Degree in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or relevant experience.
2. 5-6 years of work experience in related positions, preferably in transferring processes and/or managing projects.
3. English Level: B2 – Upper Intermediate level (based on the scale of the Common European Framework) is a must.
4. Experience in Team Management for at least 2-3 years.
5. Experience in Project Management for at least 2-3 years.
6. Analytical skills and a strategic mindset.
7. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (electrical, mechanical).
8. Knowledge in AutoCAD and SolidWorks is a plus.
9. Knowledge in interpreting pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams.
10. Experience in industrial automated machine maintenance.
11. Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and implement department procedures.
12. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
13. Flexibility and ability to deal with stressful periods.
14. Lead by example and demonstrate professionalism.
