FARO’s Global Business Systems is seeking a hands-on, dynamic, and seasoned SAP BASIS Administrator to maintain and support SAP landscapes (ECC, BTP, BW, CPQ, GRC, etc.) to ensure integrity and stability encompassing SAP business system upgrades, maintenance, enhancements, system monitoring, and performance tuning of the SAP ecosystem supporting FARO’s core business processes.
This role will be part of SAP CoE supporting efficient delivery of business-driven SAP programs/projects and day-to-day (operational and tactical) business needs.
This individual must be able to collaborate cross-functionally with various departments and regions while managing SAP BASIS operations, administration, and optimization of SAP landscapes in a cloud environment. This role involves overseeing the implementation and day-to-day operations of SAP ecosystems, ensuring system stability, performance tuning, and compliance with security standards including driving of release cycles, data refresh cycles, troubleshooting, and resolving SAP issues.
This role requires a blend of leadership, business acumen, relationship management, business process understanding, project planning, project execution, application maintenance skills and is responsible for leading a full range of activities across one or more programs or projects with varying degrees of complexity and scope, while partnering with internal customers and other stakeholders.
This position provides in-depth expertise of SAP BASIS administration, with focus on SAP landscape system stability, integrity, and optimal performance while managing the day-to-day operations of SAP landscape including system monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and transport management.
In addition, this role will be part of FARO’s rapidly growing IT Center in Porto, Portugal or Atlanta, GA. This is considered a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of 2 days in the office per week.
How you will make a difference @ FARO:
1. Install, configure, maintain, tune, troubleshoot and support SAP landscapes (ECC, BTP, BW, CPQ, GRC, etc.) to ensure integrity and stability. Perform daily administration, monitoring, and system health checks.
2. Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize system performance (CPU, memory, storage), and perform regular health checks.
3. Upgrades and Patching: Plan and execute system upgrades, enhancement packs, kernel patches, and system migrations.
4. Disaster Recovery and Backup: Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity and business continuity.
5. Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor SAP systems to identify potential issues, manage incidents, and provide solutions to technical challenges.
6. Apply SAP Best Practices under Focused Run & Focused Build and monitor issue resolution, participate in high priority issues and ensure quality deliverables.
7. Transport Management: Manage the SAP Transport Management System (TMS) and ensure proper movement of configuration changes across landscapes.
8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain up-to-date system documentation, including technical architecture diagrams, procedures, and best practices.
9. System Migrations: Lead and execute SAP migrations (e.g., from on-premises to cloud, OS/DB migrations, etc).
10. Integration and Collaboration: Collaborate with functional teams and developers for system integrations, troubleshooting, and overall SAP landscape management.
11. System Architecture: Assist in designing and configuring high-availability and disaster recovery solutions for SAP environments.
12. Customer and Vendor Interaction: Coordinate with SAP support, hardware vendors, and other third-party providers for resolving issues, managing escalations, and ensuring license compliance.
13. Security and compliance: Partner with SAP-Security and Audit team to ensure compliance with organizational security standards and SAP best practices.
14. Partner with peers for upgrades, new releases and monitor performance of the technical objects when coordinating, testing and problem-solving across business operations functions. Build collaboration by encouraging trust, mutual respect, and shared purpose among team members.
15. Collaborating with functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical integration solutions. Candidates must have strength in areas of technical analysis, testing, troubleshooting, security and data privacy.

This position requires:
1. Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or related business process with 10+ years of related work experience OR Master’s degree in field with 7+ years of related work experience.
2. 10+ years of SAP BASIS hands-on experience in maintaining SAP landscape, upgrades, migrations while collaborating with SAP (SD, MM, PP, FICO) functional teams.
3. Hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration, managing, monitoring, transport system management, periodic system refreshes, upgrades/support packs, tuning, transport management and troubleshooting of the SAP systems.
4. Analyze system logs and performance metrics and conduct workload analysis. Recommend and implement improvements in a timely manner to ensure optimal performance.
5. Experience SAP ECC 6.0, CPQ, BTP (CPI) and BW with the installation and maintenance of SAP eco-systems and software components for ECC and HANA.
6. Handle, prioritize, and resolve break-fix and enhancements tickets.
7. Plan and implement SAP upgrades and new implementations as required.
8. Daily monitoring, administrating, troubleshooting and tuning of all SAP system.
9. Perform regular system maintenance, patching, and upgrades.
10. Manage SAP user access and security settings.
11. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to SAP environment.
12. Collaborate with functional teams for seamless integration of SAP modules.
13. Ensure system compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.
14. Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, SAP BASIS & Security, SAP BTP, and integration solutions.
15. Skilled in monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting SAP HANA systems using SAP HANA Cockpit and HANA Studio, as well as implementing SAP HANA security, and system performance optimization.
16. Experienced in memory management, system monitoring, performance tuning, system refresh/copy, SAP backup and recovery strategies and high-availability configurations.
17. Knowledge of system integration, ALE/IDoc administration, batch management, and database administration, SAP HANA databases, including installation, monitoring, and tuning.
18. Good interpersonal, organizational, planning and communications skills are vital, including strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to lead discussions, present ideas to audiences of all sizes, and communicate/ interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
19. Ability to work in a team environment & interact effectively supporting ongoing program/projects. Handle, prioritize, and troubleshoot issues independently. Coordinates and/or handles technical support with business users.
20. Ability to work under stress to meet deadlines in completing various, multiple and changing business priorities, requirements, and projects.
21. Must be self-motivated, demonstrate a “can-do” attitude and be a "results" driven individual with a positive attitude for a timely delivery of agreed upon solutions.
