To join our team in August 2024, we are looking for a well-qualified and talented Head of Secondary.
The Head of Secondary, International is a key member of the school's Senior Leadership Team (SLT) responsible for providing professional and effective leadership across all aspects of the secondary phase. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the school's vision, driving student achievement, and fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. The selected candidate will be expected to teach 14 periods. The ability to teach Mathematics will be regarded positively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develop and implement the school's strategic plan for the secondary phase with the Head of International and SLT.
2. Lead Secondary Heads of Department and staff, fostering continuous improvement and raising the IB average.
3. Promote the school's vision and passion for learning to students, parents, and colleagues.
4. Represent St. Peter’s International School to help grow the International Section.
5. Ensure the secondary curriculum meets student needs and aligns with Cambridge and IB programmes.
6. Conduct admissions interviews and oversee the induction process for new students and families.
7. Lead the Secondary House Council and student leadership initiatives.
8. Maintain a safe, supportive learning environment and uphold the student Code of Conduct.
9. Guide students from Grades 6-11 on university applications and career pathway
10. Implement and oversee the behaviour support system for positive student outcomes.
11. Establish consistent behaviour policies with clear consequences.
12. Lead the team responsible for behaviour support plans and communicate with families.
13. Monitor and improve the pastoral care and SEBL curriculum.
14. Oversee PSHE and SRE (Sex and Relationships Education) initiatives.
15. Promote a positive school culture and foster a respectful, supportive environment.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
16. University degree in appropriate subject.
17. A minimum of 3 years' experience in a senior leadership position, ideally within a secondary school setting.
18. Proven track record of raising standards and achieving excellence in education.
19. Strong knowledge of the Cambridge and or IB curriculum and international education best practices.
20. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
21. Ability to motivate and inspire staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
22. Commitment to student well-being and safeguarding.
23. A creative and strategic thinker with a passion for innovation.
