Job Description
We are looking for a Medical Writer to join our expert team working for one of the most recognizable pharmaceutical companies in the world. In this role, you will be part a group of writers, overseeing quality content development, providing project and scientific counsel and guidance both internally and externally on current and new business projects.
Engagement in projects involves:
1. analyzing of data derived from publications and clinical trials in terms of their usefulness for different geographies
2. searching medical databases
3. assimilating and verifying data for promotional and educational materials intended for HCPs and patients; these materials encompass a wide range, including but not limited to, slide decks, posters, peer-reviewed publications, leaflets, and websites
4. contributing to abstracts, posters, and publications development under the guidance of senior staff
5. functioning in parallel projects in different disease areas at any one time.
Qualifications
Skills and knowledge the role requires:
6. Life sciences degree (preferably a Masters, MD, PhD or BPharm)
7. Native or proficient level of English (C2), knowledge of other languages is an asset (particularly Portuguese, but other languages are of interest as well)
8. Experience as a Medical Writer in an advertising agency, communication agency, or in the pharmaceutical sector
9. Previous experience as an evidence synthesis or data analyst would be an asset
10. Understanding of the medical and pharmaceutical sectors and codes/guidelines
11. Providing scientific support for pitch research
12. Proficient computer and excellent communication skills
13. Flexible, able to work collaboratively or independently
14. Good organisational skills, attention to detail, calm under pressure
15. Ability to provide scientific counsel to clients and internal team regarding complex narratives/portfolio messaging development

16. Interaction with other departments of the company in a seamless manner
17. Resolution of difficult conversations, both internal and external, in a constructive manner
18. Expertise in establishing strong relationships with external scientific experts and client teams
19. Close interactions with the account lead and scientific strategist to provide holistic account oversight, and sets priorities to reflect account deadlines and evolving needs
20. Leadership in scientific presentations with confidence
