PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The DevOps Engineer is responsible for building, deploying and maintaining the platform services that run business applications.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work with development teams to design and deliver infrastructure and platform solutions that meet operational targets for high availability, DR, logging, and monitoring;
2. Install, patching, upgrading, supporting, managing capacity, and administration of platform services (e.g. SQL and IIS Servers);
3. Assist the adoption and implementation of DevOps and automation for infrastructure services and application deployments;
4. Plan, Design and Implement solutions for both automation and systems integration of business applications, internal IT applications and internal IT processes;
5. Develop, document and communicate related application and database systems policies, procedures and guidelines as defined by management;
6. Provide 24x7x365 assistance as necessary in support of NetJets operations as part of the team on-call support;
7. Implement proactive monitoring and event management for applications and platform services.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS:
1. 4+ years of experience in Software and/or Infrastructure roles, with at least 1 year in a DevOps role;
2. Previous administration in middleware technologies such as IIS, Tomcat, NodeJS;
3. Familiar with the fundamentals of web application and relational database architectures;
4. Understanding of Agile and other development processes and methodologies;
5. Visual Studio, Microsoft .Net Framework and .Net Core;
6. Windows system administration experience required;
7. Shell, Python, Go, PowerShell, Auto-IT, Groovy or other programming language experience is a must;
8. Understanding of CI/CD processes and tools (AWS Code Pipeline, Jenkins);
9. In-depth knowledge working with and managing Git (Bitbucket, Github, CodeCommit);
10. Experience administering and utilizing APM tools (DataDog / Dynatrace/New Relic/AppDynamics) a plus;
11. Experience using log management tools (Splunk/ELK) for troubleshooting desirable;
12. Previous Experience with Configuration Management tools (Ansible, Chef, HashiCorp Packer) desirable;
13. Knowledge/experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon ECS is desirable;
14. AWS / Cloud experience highly desirable.
