Overview
As a telephonic interpreter for Fulani, you are responsible for handling telephone calls on demand and facilitating language communication for the Limited English Proficient (LEP) community in various settings, including medical, legal, and customer service.
Language Services Associates is continuously accepting qualified interpreters who possess excellent communication skills and a strong ability to navigate complex situations.
Responsibilities:
* Provide effective telephonic remote interpreting services
* Answer inbound calls in a timely manner, ensuring seamless communication
* Deliver superior customer service, addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly
* Adhere to our Code of Professional Conduct, maintaining strict standards of confidentiality
* Familiarize yourself with all policies and procedures, including professional interpretation protocols and industry-specific best practices
* Participate in ongoing training and quality assurance monitoring to ensure exceptional performance
Qualifications/Experience:
* Achieve full fluency in both English and Fulani
* Demonstrate technology proficiency, utilizing web-based platforms, email, and Microsoft Word
* Ensure landline phone access for optimal sound quality
* Guarantee a quiet, secure, and noise-free interpreting space
* Possess at least 2 years of professional interpreting experience, preferably in the field
* Hold relevant certifications or trainings, such as CMI or CCHI
* Prioritize proof of 40+ hour medical interpreting training, showcasing expertise through programs like Bridging the Gap or Cross-Cultural
