We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-driven General Ledger Accountant based in Ovar – Portugal and ready to pursue new and exciting challenges.
Your Responsibilities
1. Conducts accounts analysis and reconciliations to ensure accuracy of accounting entries and compliance with regulatory standards.
2. Maintains and updates the general ledger and chart of accounts in both group and local GAAP.
3. Compiles and prepares financial statements such as the balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement.
4. Prepares and reports monthly and yearly tax declarations, namely VAT, IRC, IES.
5. Assists in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
6. Collaborates in month end, quarter end and year end activities and proposes accruals and closing entries.
7. Supports during external and internal audits.
8. Checks documents and makes accounting entries in the ERP system (SAP).
9. Checks accuracy of material entries and correct pricing for purchase invoices.
10. Reviews financial documents for accuracy and resolves discrepancies.
11. Systematizes the archive of accounting documents and reports.
12. Collaborates with other departments to complete accurate reports and provides accounting support.
13. Proposes improvements and assists in the implementation of accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
What You Need To Succeed In This Position
1. Degree in Accounting, Economics or Business Management.
2. Professional experience of at least 5 years in the accounting area.
3. Good knowledge of Taxation.
4. IT knowledge from the user's perspective, namely SAP, Office.
5. Excellent analytical skills, organization and planning.
6. Ability to work in teams and sense of organization.
7. Good attention to detail.
8. Fluency in spoken and written English.
9. Certified accountant seen as advantage.
