Your role in our team
• Enable the Körber Supply Chain Automation Business Unit to develop, design and sell supply chain automated material handling solutions according to Customer’s requirements.
• Working close with the local Sales Managers, our Solution Design Engineers analyse Customer’s requirements, as well as market and technology trends, to create and benchmark competitive solutions, in direct support to active sales opportunities (both locally and internationally) or to create new generic solutions as part as the company’s strategic roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyse Customer’s intralogistics requirements, from both a process perspective and an in-depth data analysis, and create conceptual solution ideas to fulfil these requirements, based on the company’s product portfolio, solution standards, and where required, 3rd party solutions, products or services;
• Interact and organize meetings with Project Execution, Engineering, Software, R&D, Product Supply Chain and After Sales departments to properly configure and price solutions, equipment or services;
• Interact with 3rd party supplies by developing the RFQ documentation and analyzing their offers to fit solution requirements;
• Create detailed CAD layouts for the solution and assist in the creation of 3D models or animations for the solution;
• Make performance calculations to determine the adequate equipment configuration and quantity, based on company guidelines and tools;
• Develop the technical proposal for the customer, including design base, solution description and acceptance criteria;
• In coordination with the sales managers ensure proper hand-over of sold projects to the execution team(s) based on company standards and processes
• Keep track of the competition, new developments, trends and capabilities in the supply chain automation business
Your profile
• Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering, or alternatively, a degree in Industrial, Logistics or Production Management (with high engineering content)
• No previous experience required, though experience in the material handling automation is beneficial
• Solid knowledge in AutoCAD, MS Excel and, MS Office is required
• Ability to work under pressure
• Autonomy and proactivity
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• English: fluent (both verbal and written); Spanish (is a plus)
