As a DevOps Software Engineer, you will work with the software engineering, research, and systems teams to build the backbone of our business. This role is a means to make a difference: your role will serve as a force multiplier to maximize the productivity of the personnel, tools, and workflows that deliver software at Voleon.
ResponsibilitiesSupport Voleon's build processes and continuous delivery tools, manage software development tools, and automate systems and operationsWork with stakeholders and product teams to create robust, high-performance software and systems architecturesEstablish and promote best practices for software development and testingDesign and support implementations of production infrastructure and applicationsRequirementsAt least four years of experience with software development or production systems supportFluent with Python or at least two other software languages such as Groovy, R, or GoExperience implementing and supporting continuous integration platforms such as Jenkins, TeamCity, CircleCI, or BambooExperience with automated software testing practices and toolsExtensive experience with common containerization tools such as Docker and KubernetesPower user of GitFamiliar with Agile project management conceptsAbility to initiate and lead cross-team technical projectsBachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical fieldPreferred QualificationsExperience with configuration automation tools, such as Ansible, Chef, and PuppetExposure to virtualization tools such as KVMExperience configuring and using the ELK stackExperience with Prometheus, Grafana, or related toolsExperience with the Bazel build systemBackground in Linux/Unix administrationExperience administering AWS or similar cloud infrastructure platforms via Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code toolsUnderstanding of relational databases (primarily PostgreSQL) and NoSQL data management toolsEagerness to work with diverse teams
