Job Description:
King's College School, Cascais is a prestigious institution in the Inspired Group. The college offers a rigorous curriculum based on the Cambridge International and IGCSE programmes, with plans to introduce the International Baccalaureate in Year 12.
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate teacher of Public Speaking and English to lead our Summer Camps at King's College School, Cascais. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive two-week programme for students aged 9 and above, focusing on English language skills in an enjoyable and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Curriculum Delivery and Creation:
o Deliver engaging lessons and hands-on activities focused on English language.
o Develop and adapt content to suit the diverse needs and interests of the students.
* Program Planning:
o Collaborate with the program coordinator to organize and structure the two-week summer camp schedule at each location.
o Create clear learning outcomes to be shared with parents.
* Language Activities:
o Facilitate activities to enhance speaking confidence in English.
o Develop activities to improve vocabulary and listening skills.
* Skill Differentiation:
o Implement strategies to differentiate learning outcomes, catering to varying levels of skill and experience among the students.
o Adapt teaching methods to ensure individualized progress and skill development.
* Student Engagement:
o Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes active participation, collaboration, and critical thinking.
o Support evening activities, fostering social interaction and communication skills.
* Knowledge Development:
o Share personal experiences and insights into responsible language use.
* Evaluation and Feedback:
o Implement assessment strategies to measure student progress.
o Offer constructive feedback and guidance, promoting continuous improvement.
Requirements:
* Good team player and ability to work collaboratively with others.
* Attend online training courses on child safety through the Educare platform mandatory before arrival to inset days.
* Staff members are expected to uphold high standards of personal hygiene and appearance at all times.
* Maintain an awareness and observation of fire, health and safety regulations.
Documentation Required and Contract:
English level required: Advanced or Proficiency (C1-C2).
Documentation required:
* Valid Permission to work within the EU.
* Criminal Record (with less than 3 months of expedition).
* Curriculum Vitae with picture attached in the upper right-hand corner.
* Scanned Copies of Degrees and Certificates.
* 2 References (Letters).
Contract:
* Period: from Wednesday 2nd July to Saturday 2nd August 2025.
* Training days: 3rd, 4th, 5th of July.
* Summer Camp: Session 1: 6th July - 19th July 2025.
* Summer Camp: Session 2: 20th July – 2nd August 2025.
* Salary: Euros 1800 gross for the whole period.
* Day Off: 3 mornings a week, Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
* Expected to work a few duties throughout the week, including supporting evening activities and excursions on Wednesday.
