We are seeking a Senior Consultant/Manager to join our Financial Services Risk Management (FSRM) team. As part of this role, you will work with prestigious clients in the financial services market to provide strategic and operational advice.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Provide integrated risk management services for financial institutions with a high level of efficiency and quality.
* Support financial institutions in defining governance models, policies, processes, and procedures in accordance with local, national, and global requirements.
* Assist in establishing, monitoring, evaluating, and interpreting data with a risk management focus.
* Support the implementation of key regulatory requirements and guidelines.
* Develop Probability of Default and Loss Given Default risk rating models for commercial & corporate borrowers.
* Develop time series Stress Test models to support capital planning initiatives.
* Support performance monitoring and model validation.
* Perform data manipulation and analysis using SQL, SAS, and other tools, presenting results and recommendations to Credit Risk Management.
* Contribute to the analysis of impairment models.
* Participate in regulatory risk assessment exercises and independent reviews of the applicable prudential framework.
* Identify risk and/or improvement opportunities.
* Understand and adhere to clients' risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with clients' risk appetite.
* Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.
* Support team management.
* Contribute to the development of the FSRM team, acting as mentor and coach to junior members and leading by example.

To Qualify for the Role
* You must have an Academic Degree in Management, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar financial/analytical fields of studies.
* You must have at least 3-4 years of experience in risk management analysis and projects, mainly in the banking sector.
* You must have knowledge of local and international banking regulations that affect models and rating systems.
* You must have relevant experience in development or validation of end-to-end statistical models, including credit IRB, IFRS 9 provisioning, and stress testing.
* You must have knowledge and previous experience of PD / LGD / EAD modelling or validation.
* You must have good knowledge of risk model development and validation techniques.
* You must have understanding of industry-wide modelling practices and trends.
* You must have knowledge in SAS, SQL, R, VBA, and other programming languages.
* You must be able to work in multicultural projects and environments.
* You must be fluent in written and verbal communication in both Portuguese and English.
* You must be available to work in Portugal and abroad.
Ideal Candidate
* Experience in prudential and supervision framework.
* Experience in development or validation of Internal Capital models is an advantage.
* Commercial acuity to develop existing opportunities in clients and identify and explore new ones.
