UX Designer Trainee

What can I do here?
As a UX Trainee, you will work as part of a team of UX Design specialists responsible for delivering market-leading products and services in the construction industry.
You will be involved in several UX and software development initiatives which will primarily include:
* The creation of design assets during development such as personas, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, or high-fidelity designs.
* Enhancing existing visual elements and usability of our products.
* Proactively validating ideas, concepts, and features with customers through regular user testing sessions.
* Helping promote a UX culture across our products with the aim of improving quality.
You will coordinate work with other UX Designers, UX Researchers, Product Owners, Project Managers, Software Developers, and Quality Assurance Testers.
This role is important in enabling the company to deliver high quality, consistent, and engaging user experiences across web, mobile, and desktop software.
Responsibilities:
* Take problem scenarios or conceptual ideas and turn them into elegant and valuable solutions.
* Design user flows that are simple and elegant.
* Sketch, wireframe, and prototype by following UX process, standards, and best practices.
* Contribute to UX design, UI design, and research to produce relevant design assets during development such as personas, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, or hi-lo fidelity designs.
* Contribute to the ongoing enhancements and maintenance of the UX Design System.
* Give and solicit feedback from other designers to improve quality.
* Articulate design decisions and proposals to peers and stakeholders.
* Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, Developers, Designers, Quality Assurance, and Marketing.
* Remain up to date and competent with the latest tools and practices in UX.
* Where appropriate, liaise with customers to solicit feedback on your designs and iterate to improve them.
* The job holder may also be asked to undertake other duties outside of this job description that are commensurate with their skills and experience, including tasks delegated by the Lead UX Designer, UX Manager, and other management staff.
Measures of Success:
* Products and services are delivered meeting requirements, design, brand, and quality criteria.
* Own UX work is completed in line with design process, standards, and methodologies.
* Serious risks and issues are highlighted to the UX Team Lead or UX Lead in a timely manner with suggestions for resolution.
Education:
* Bachelor or master’s in design or similar.
* A background in a design-focused role, or design-focused education/training.
Skills & Knowledge:
* Portuguese native or equivalent.
* Fluent in English (written and oral).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting ideas and communicating every aspect of designs to relevant stakeholders.
* Flexible and adaptable to a fast-changing environment.
* A real passion and talent for all things design.
Technical/Job Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
* Some experience of turning large quantities of data into simple elegant solutions.
* Understanding of the core UX principles such as UX Design, UI Design, and Research.
* Experience with software tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Dovetail, Hotjar, Google Analytics, Heap, and DevOps.
