Country Business Unit Controller
We are seeking a skilled Country Business Unit Controller to join our team at Siemens Mobility Portugal.
About the Role
This is a key position responsible for financial oversight and reporting, strategic support, compliance and risk management, operational support, leadership and team management, and technology and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Financial Oversight and Reporting:
o Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop, monitor, and manage annual budgets for the business unit. Create accurate financial forecasts to guide decision-making.
o Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and corporate policies.
o Variance Analysis: Analyze deviations between actual and budgeted performance. Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial outcomes.
* Strategic Support:
o Performance Monitoring: Track and assess key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate business unit health. Identify areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvement.
o Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to define business strategies. Align financial goals with broader organizational objectives.
* Compliance and Risk Management:
o Audit and Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and legal regulations. Coordinate internal and external audits and address findings promptly.
o Risk Assessment: Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies. Monitor currency, market, and operational risks that could affect the business unit.
* Operational Support:
o Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with sales, operations, HR, and other teams to align financial planning with operational goals. Provide financial expertise to support business decisions and investments.
o Cost Management: Oversee cost control measures and expense management. Identify opportunities for cost-saving initiatives.
* Leadership and Team Management:
o Team Oversight: Lead and develop the finance team within the business unit. Ensure staff is trained on compliance, policies, and tools.
o Stakeholder Communication: Act as the liaison between the business unit and corporate headquarters. Communicate financial performance and updates to key stakeholders.
* Technology and Process Improvement:
o System Integration: Ensure the effective use of financial systems and tools. Drive process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
o Data Analysis: Leverage financial data to provide insights into business trends. Use analytics tools to support decision-making.
Requirements
* Masters in Economics or related field.
* At least 5 years of experience in similar functions.
* Expertise in calculation, export, customs, and taxes.
* Proficiency in accounting according to IFRS and contract management.
* Experience with PowerBi.
* Excellent command of English for international activities.
