Mission of the Role:
The Sr. Electrification FuSa Architect primary mission is to accelerate Visteon’s reputation for technical excellence providing Hardware expertise for the architecture and design of electronic components, equipment, systems and products by developing global solutions for platforms, hardware prototypes and providing guidance to cross-functional teams.
Key objectives of this Role:
1. Develop Functional Safety Concepts, system safety requirements, and vehicle level diagnostics for electrification systems;
2. Deliver Electrification specific work products include the Safety Plan, Preliminary Hazard Analysis, Safety Requirements, and Safety Analysis including FMEDA and FTA, and Safety Verification and Validation activities;
3. Define functional objectives based on Functional Safety and other requirements such as System FMEA to drive robust diagnostic solutions for electrification products.
4. Moderating System Safety Analysis (e.g. FMEA, FTA);
5. Leading the creation of System Architecture;
6. Preparing safety documentation for system releases;
7. Solving design and functional anomalies and ensuring the functional safety of the released product;
8. Manage cross-functional teams to define diagnostic strategies for safety-critical vehicle systems, in alignment with ISO26262 standards.
9. Manage cross-functional engineering teams to design and implement diagnostics, ensuring robust monitoring of performance, reliability, and fault metrics
10. Following company standards, international safety standards and development process;
11. Analyzing the impact of ISO26262 releases for client Electronic Hardware and create Functional Safety awareness across department;
12. Performing safety management activities for Electrification projects according to relevant standards during all project phases (concept, product development, production) including preliminary hazard analysis, DFMEA, FMEDA, qualitative and quantitative fault tree analysis;
13. Leading and coordinating creation of functional safety documentation according to ISO 26262;
14. Cascading safety requirements to the systems, subsystems, and component levels in product portfolio. Specify detailed safety requirements, including diagnostic and software requirements.
15. Ownership of FuSa designed hardware BOM, software diagnostics, and lead design to cost
16. Work closely with our software team to deliver best in class electrification products

17. Project Timelines and Milestones: Track the progress of electrification projects, ensuring they are completed within specified timelines and that key milestones are achieved.
18. Budget Adherence: Manage project budgets effectively, monitoring expenditures and ensuring that electrification initiatives are delivered within budgetary constraints.
19. Technical Innovation: Measure the introduction and successful implementation of innovative electrification technologies or solutions that contribute to the organization's competitiveness and market leadership.
20. Product Development Efficiency: Monitor the efficiency of the product development process for electrification-related products, from concept to launch.
21. Quality and Performance Metrics: Track the quality and performance of electrification products or systems, meeting or exceeding established technical and functional specifications.
22. Customer Satisfaction: Measure customer satisfaction with electrification products, services, or projects, reflecting the success of meeting customer needs.
Key Year One Deliverables:
23. Develop and execute project plans. Need to be able to develop and execute project plans that meet the project's goals and objectives. This includes breaking down the project into smaller tasks, estimating the time and resources needed for each task, and creating a timeline for completing the project.
24. Manage risk and dependencies. Need to be able to identify and manage risks and dependencies that could impact the project. This includes developing contingency plans in case of risks, and coordinating with other teams to ensure that all dependencies are met.
25. Communicate effectively with stakeholders. Need to be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. This includes keeping stakeholders informed of the project's progress, addressing their concerns, and resolving issues as they arise.
26. Track and report project progress. Need to track and report project progress to stakeholders on a regular basis. This includes providing status updates, identifying any potential delays or problems, and making recommendations for improvement.
27. Advocate for the project. Need to be able to advocate for the project to stakeholders and senior management. This includes promoting the project's benefits, overcoming objections, and securing funding and resources.
Qualification, Experience and Skills:
28. Master’s degree with over 10 years of experience, or PhD with over 5 years of experience
29. Automotive experience
30. Hands on experience in digital and analog circuit design
31. Experience in PCB design, using schematic capture and layout tools
32. Good understanding of design for manufacturing, quality control and FMEA
33. Knowledge of environmental, reliability requirement for automotive, industrial and energy storage applications
34. Large volume product development experience
35. Experience in systems engineering
