The School is about to embark on a €40 million building project over five years that will see significant enhancements to the existing site.About the roleWe are seeking to appoint a highly-committed and suitably qualified Head of Academic Music (Second in Department) to our dedicated Music Faculty.
All students study Music up until Year 9, before making options choices at IGCSE and one of our Group 6 subjects in the IB Diploma Programme in Years 12 and 13.
A team of Visiting Music Teachers works alongside our classroom music teachers, offering individual lessons throughout the age range.
We have a strong extra-curricular programme in place, which we are looking to develop further.We are proud of our care of students and all teachers are expected to play an active role in pastoral care as a form tutor or support tutor.Person specificationEssentialThe ideal candidate will:Be an innovative and collaborative teacher and team member.Demonstrate experience of excellent teaching of Music across the age range.Be able to inspire teachers and students with innovative curriculum development.Possess a recognised teaching qualification with at least three years teaching experience.Have a proven record of an adaptable, collaborative, innovative and compassionate approach to teaching and learning.DesirableHave experience of teaching Pearson GCSE Music.Have experience of teaching IB DP Music
