Job Description
The Value Stream Manager is responsible for leading, planning, controlling, and coordinating all production activities within a Value Stream.
Main Areas of Accountability
* Manage production of area's product(s) or process with given resources in line with production plans, ensuring safety and quality at the lowest cost level.
* Collaborate with technical department to ensure correct functioning of devices and optimal technical condition.
* Plan related processes and resources, implementing Lean processes to achieve highest utilization of resources.
* Monitor operational KPIs and define action plans to improve.
Responsibilities
In the Initial Phase
* Participate in selection and hiring of team employees.
* Learn relevant production and management processes.
* Work closely with training team to ensure correct worker training before start-up.
* Collaborate with local process owner to define 'way of working' for Portuguese plant.
* Document necessary activities following group guidelines.
* Support validation activities, providing trained resources and relevant documentation.
* Work with commissioning team to define project agreement for machines received on site.
* Hire human resources and prepare team and shop floor for equipment transfer.
After Start-up
* Ensure efficient teams maintain operations within Value Stream.
* Plan and execute people development focused on required competencies.
* Schedule frequent meetings/discussions with team members.
* Headcount planning and execution of actions.
* Plan and execute overtime according to company best interests.
* Comply with Coloplast standard procedures and EHS rules.
* Create job descriptions and training plans for direct reports.
* Request necessary accesses and specific roles to Coloplast systems for direct reports.
Technical Resources
* Evaluate continuous growth of efficiency/effectiveness.
* Closely relate to technical department.
* Set SMART targets and manage team to reach them (Scrap, Down-Time, inventory level, etc).
* Find sustainable solutions via organizing and leading improvement projects.
* Calculate and plan resources needed for investments and expenses.
* Making proposals for needed improvements Minimize cost, scrap, and labor.
* Follow up on production/storekeeping and maintenance spending, reporting, and forecasting.
Processes
* Compliance of production/storekeeping process.
* Identify points of improvement in processes – execute plan of improvement.
* Cooperate with other departments, harmonizing processes for effectiveness.
* Manage risks associated with sustainability of operations.
* Keep area safe, clean, and ready to produce.
* Participate/organize lay-out meetings.
* Comply with EHS requirements: fire prevention/protection, safety, injury prevention/protection, and environmental rules and legislations.
Essential Qualifications
* Relevant degree in Engineering, management, or related field (B. Sc. or higher).
* Proven experience managing cross-functional teams and organization larger than 200 collaborators.
* Experience improving manufacturing operations using Lean and Six Sigma techniques.
* Experience with MES or other system to track and analyze production operations.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working with inventory management systems.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Knowledge of PowerBI.
* International experience or experience working with multinational companies.
* Experience with Oracle E1.
