About You
The Head of Operations will be a strategic leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing Rauva's back-office functions, ensuring seamless service delivery and operational excellence. This role is central to delivering exceptional experiences for our users while driving efficiency and scalability as we continue our rapid growth.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing operations within the banking or fintech environment, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for innovation.
To lead the implementation of the Bank's Operations area, responsible for implementing and overseeing the central operations, which cover activities such as management of nostro and vostro accounts, payments, treasury, settlements, collateral management, loans administration, deposits administration, customer service, credit and debit card operations, client static data management, internet and mobile banking support areas and will coordinate all relevant bank operations in an efficient and effective manner so that user journey is optimized to meet business strategy. The job holder is also responsible for identifying, mitigating and monitoring all operational risks within the area.
Your Responsibilities
* Operational Strategy & Execution:
* 1. Implement the workflows to support the operations developed.
* 2. Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with Rauva's business goals and growth objectives.
* 3. Lead initiatives to streamline operations, enhance service delivery, and improve customer experiences.
* 4. Oversee the development and execution of key operational processes and procedures.
* 5. Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement to drive operational efficiency.
* 6. Implement and manage scalable processes to support business growth.
* 7. Continuously review and enhance workflows to optimize productivity and be accountable for the overall achievement of agreed SLA for the operations area.
* Risk Management & Compliance:
* 1. Ensure operations adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements.
* 2. Work closely with compliance and MLRO to mitigate risks and maintain high standards of governance.
* 3. Implement robust risk management frameworks and operational controls.
* Team Leadership & Development:
* 1. Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing operations team in an agile environment.
* 2. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
* 3. Set clear performance objectives and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
* 4. Lead and motivate teams, acting as a 'change agent' so that development is carried out with commitment and to agreed timescales and standards.
* Vendor & Partner Management:
* 1. Manage relationships with key service providers and partners.
* 2. Negotiate contracts and ensure delivery against SLAs.
* 3. Monitor third-party performance and compliance.
* User Experience:
* 1. Collaborate with product, IT, and user support teams to enhance the end-to-end user journey.
* 2. Ensure timely resolution of user issues and delivery of exceptional service.
* Data-Driven:
* 1. Utilize data and analytics to drive operational decisions.
* 2. Monitor KPIs and provide regular reports to senior management.
* 3. Identify trends and develop actionable insights to improve operational performance.
* Policy Review, Updates, Audit:
* 1. Develop, improve and maintain policies and procedures and user manuals for the operations department.
* 2. Ensure that any audit points have been addressed and cleared in a reasonable time.
What's your ideal background?
* Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, engineering, operations management, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
* Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years in operations management, preferably in a bank, digital bank, fintech, or other financial services organization.
* Significant and proven experience in Operations, managing at least one of the functions reporting to this role.
* Experience in project planning and implementing software tools for the operations area.
* Strong understanding of banking operations, regulatory frameworks, and best practices.
* Experience with process optimization and automation.
* Data-driven mindset with analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Demonstrated leadership and decision-making abilities.
* Strong understanding of risk management principles.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Portuguese.
* Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced startup environment and ability to multitask.
* Appetite to work in tech/startups.
