About the Role
This is a challenging and dynamic role that requires exceptional leadership skills, technical expertise, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. As a Senior Engineering Project Manager, you will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and exercising functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within assigned areas of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and formulate engineering approaches and organize project teams according to project requirements.
* Assign project team members to specific phases or aspects of projects such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
* Assist Project Managers with providing engineer estimates, work scopes, etc. for civil engineering aspects on other projects.
* Review designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
* Maintain corporate engineering standards.
* Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
* Demonstrate behaviors that safety and compliance are critical aspects of this role.
* Oversee and manage Engineering Project teams, internal or external.
* Develop project scopes, estimates, and appropriation documents.
* Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
* Manage, control costs, assign scope of work to various engineering contractors and vendors.
* Conduct design hazard reviews.
* Work with PSM Engineer to complete process hazard analyses (PHA), management of change (MOC), and pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR) on his/her projects.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related discipline.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in the chemical industry.
* Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task in a dynamic business environment with strict deadlines.
* Strong customer focus and experience in implementing capital projects.
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others.
* Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Project, etc.).
* Ability to read P&IDs and PFDs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Professional certification in a related subject matter (PE, PMP, etc.).
* Demonstrated competitive drive and strong orientation for results and achievement.
* Demonstrated professionalism and strong presence in interactions with others.
* Demonstrated skills in clear communication and presentation.
