Medical Officer Private Practice (Moura)

The Medical Officer Private Practice (MOPP) will work with the Medical Superintendent to provide quality medical services at Moura Hospital, including 24-hour emergency coverage. This role allows for private practice and skill maintenance at Moura and Gladstone Hospitals. Moura is a Distribution Priority Area, enabling access to special training programs.
A regular outpatient session is held at the hospital each day, Monday to Friday. The Medical Superintendent with Private Practice and Medical Officer with Private Practice hold private clinics at a surgery next to the hospital.
The Moura Multipurpose Health Service is the pilot site for the Statewide Telehealth Emergency Medicine Support Unit, linking staff with emergency specialists to make diagnoses and reduce unnecessary patient transfers.
About the role:
The Medical Officer Private Practice (MOPP) will be responsible for working with the Medical Superintendent Private Practice (MSPP) to provide safe, efficient quality medical services to inpatients and outpatients of the Moura Hospital, including the provision of 24-hour emergency department coverage.
This position can undertake Private Practice at a surgery run by the MSPP located in Minogue Street, Moura. An opportunity exists to maintain skills at the Moura Hospital and by arrangement with Gladstone Hospital.
About you:
* Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Enrolment/acceptance into a GP training program that will facilitate a provider number with access to Medicare benefits for the private practice.
* Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) certification, and enrolment and maintenance of ongoing Continuing Medical Education (CME) program of appropriate College.
* Candidates with emergency experience who wish to train for vocational registration are encouraged to apply if they are eligible for training through Remote Vocational Training Scheme (RVTS).
* Intention to work towards or hold Fellowship of either FACRRM or FRACGP is highly desirable.
* Skills in Emergency Medicine or commitment to complete such skills are highly desirable.
* Coaching and mentoring support is available from the Executive Director Medical Services (EDMS) and the Moura MSPP for the Medical Officer working within this role.

* Total remuneration value of up to $261,699 p.a. is comprised of:
* A salary rate between $182,106- $193,468 p.a. (MOR1-1 – MOR1-3)
* 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
* 17.5% leave loading

* Locality Allowance - $1,064
