We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of the Credit Control and Invoicing areas for the Southern Europe subregion of Hays. This role is pivotal in driving strategic, consistent, and measurable results in credit control and invoicing areas. Reporting to the Regional Finance Director, you will lead a dedicated team, build strong relationships with key business unit leaders as a reliable business partner, and influence innovative ideas to enhance processes and performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Leadership: Lead and inspire the collections and invoicing departments in a dynamic and evolving business environment.
* Policy Development: Review, develop, and implement standardized policies and practices across the subregion to ensure consistency and efficiency.
* Performance Measurement: Establish, monitor, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for the business and team members, ensuring targets are met.
* Strategic Customer Reviews: Conduct strategic reviews of customers to proactively address and mitigate collections and invoicing issues.
* Cash Flow Improvement: Drive improvements in cash flow by closely monitoring KPIs such as days sales outstanding (DSO), bad debts, and weekly collections, and optimizing the invoicing and credit risk assessment processes.
* System Management: Oversee advancements in collection and invoicing systems and tools to enhance operational effectiveness and improve customer experience.
* Collaboration: Partner with operational leaders and customers to understand challenges and drive a culture of efficient processes and continuous improvement.
* Team Development: Provide coaching, skills development, and guidance to the team to ensure high performance and professional growth.
* Period-End Closure: Ensure timely completion of period-end closure activities and provide accurate reporting as required.
* Legal Liaison: Liaise with external solicitors regarding outstanding clients on litigation matters.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a similar role with an accounting/finance background and a good commercial approach.
* Languages: Proficiency in English, Portuguese, and Spanish; Italian is a plus.
* Leadership & Communication: Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively supervise, mentor, and influence employees.
* Proactivity & Ethics: Demonstrated ability to work under pressure with a proactive approach and strong ethical standards.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in Navision and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
