Solar Civil Engineer
Energy | Renewables
Sobre o nosso cliente
Multinational in the Energy & Renewables sector.
Descrição
As a Solar Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for the civil and structural design aspects of large-scale solar installations, including site preparation, foundation design, and infrastructure development. You will work closely with solar system designers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure that solar power systems are built on stable, secure, and sustainable foundations. Your expertise in civil engineering and project coordination will ensure projects are executed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Assessment & Preparation: Conduct site assessments to evaluate ground conditions, topography, drainage, and soil stability. Provide recommendations for land development, grading, and clearing to ensure optimal installation conditions for solar arrays.
Foundation Design: Design and engineer foundations for solar panels, including concrete pads, piers, or ballasted systems, ensuring they meet structural safety standards and are suited to the specific site conditions.
Structural Analysis: Perform structural calculations to ensure the integrity and stability of solar racking systems, considering factors such as wind load, snow load, seismic conditions, and soil conditions.
Civil Engineering Plans & Specifications: Prepare detailed civil engineering drawings, plans, and specifications for solar projects, including site layouts, stormwater management, access roads, and other civil works.
Collaboration with Solar Engineers: Work closely with solar engineers to integrate the civil and electrical aspects of the solar project design, ensuring seamless coordination between disciplines.
Project Coordination & Oversight: Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors to manage site preparation, excavation, and construction activities. Oversee civil work during the construction phase to ensure quality, safety, and adherence to design plans.
Compliance & Regulatory Adherence: Ensure that all designs and construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning, building codes, and environmental guidelines.
Risk Management & Safety: Conduct risk assessments for potential hazards related to civil works and ensure that safety standards are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
Sustainability & Environmental Considerations: Implement sustainable design practices, including stormwater management, erosion control, and minimizing environmental impact during construction and operation.
Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including site reports, design calculations, and project updates for clients, permitting authorities, and project stakeholders.
