Job Description
We are seeking a Data Governance & Strategy Expert to join our team in Barcelona, Spain. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive data governance strategies that align with our organization's goals and ensure data quality, security, and compliance across all business units.
Develop and oversee the implementation of enterprise-wide data governance policies, standards, and proceduresLead the design and execution of data quality management programs to improve data accuracy, consistency, and reliabilityCollaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data-related issues and implement effective solutionsEnsure compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving data protection lawsCreate and maintain data governance frameworks, including data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage documentationConduct regular data quality assessments and develop strategies for continuous improvementProvide guidance and training to staff on data governance best practices and policiesPartner with IT and business teams to integrate data governance principles into new and existing systems and processesDevelop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of data governance initiativesPresent data governance strategies and progress reports to senior management and stakeholders Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's degree preferred5+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related fieldStrong knowledge of data governance frameworks, methodologies, and best practicesExpertise in data quality management tools and techniquesIn-depth understanding of data privacy and security regulations, including GDPR and CCPAProficiency in business intelligence and analytics platformsExperience in data modeling and architectureExcellent project management skills with a track record of successful data governance implementationsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesOutstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiencesExperience in developing and implementing data governance strategies across large organizationsProven ability to lead data quality improvement initiativesKnowledge of data lifecycle management and data ethicsRelevant certifications such as CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional), DGCP (Data Governance and Stewardship Professional), or CIPM (Certified Information Privacy Manager) are highly desirableFluency in English is required; Spanish and Portuguese are a plus Additional Information Why Fusion?
