We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Architect with 15+ years of experience in various centric roles such as DBA, SQL Developer, Data Engineer, BI Developer, and Data Analyst. The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of experience as a Data Architect, designing and implementing scalable data solutions across on-premise and cloud platforms (Microsoft, AWS, Azure). This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a strong ability to work across multiple teams to build scalable, high-performing, and efficient data architectures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Architecture & Strategy: Design, develop, and optimize scalable, high-availability data architectures across on-premise (SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, Big Query, Synapse Analytics). Define data governance, security, and compliance strategies in line with industry best practices. Establish data integration strategies between legacy systems and modern cloud environments. Provide roadmaps for data modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
2. Data Engineering & Integration: Architect and implement ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, SSIS, dbt, or similar technologies. Enable real-time data streaming using Kafka, Event Hubs, or Kinesis. Ensure seamless data integration across various structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources. Define best practices for data storage, performance tuning, indexing, and partitioning.
3. Data Modeling & Warehousing: Design enterprise data models (OLTP & OLAP) for high-performance analytics. Architect data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts on Azure Synapse, Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Databricks, or similar platforms. Optimize dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and data partitioning strategies.
4. Cloud & Big Data Technologies: Build and manage data platforms on Azure (Synapse, Databricks, Data Factory, Data Lake), AWS (Redshift, Glue, S3, Athena), and GCP (Big Query, Dataflow). Implement serverless data solutions (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions) for effective processing.
5. Security, Compliance & Governance: Ensure data security through encryption, RBAC, and data masking techniques. Implement data governance frameworks (Collibra, Alation, Microsoft Purview). Ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2, and other regulatory requirements.
6. Leadership & Collaboration: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Data Engineers, Analysts, and Developers. Collaborate with functional teams including DevOps, ML Engineers, and Product Owners to define data strategies. Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure alignment between data initiatives and business goals.
Required Skills:
Experience: 10+ years in Data-related roles | 5+ years as a Data Architect. Strong experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, NoSQL (Cosmos DB, MongoDB, Cassandra). Deep expertise in Azure Data Platform (Fabric, Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, ADLS, Purview). Proficiency in ETL/ELT pipelines using SSIS, ADF, dbt, Glue. Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, Scala (nice to have), PowerShell. Hands-on experience in data security, data lineage, data governance frameworks. Excellent understanding of data modeling, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization.
Education: Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Preferred Certifications (at least a few from the list): Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate/Professional, Snowflake Data Cloud Certification, Google Professional Data Engineer, TOGAF 9 Certification (Enterprise Architecture).
Nice to Have: Experience with Graph databases (Neo4j, Cosmos DB Graph, Amazon Neptune). Exposure to machine learning pipelines (Azure ML, AWS Sagemaker, Databricks MLflow). Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, Cloud Formation). Familiarity with CI/CD in data environments (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Airflow).
