Overview
The Sadewasser RG is dedicated to the development of micro- and nanostructured solutions to improve the performance of thin-film solar cells. We are looking for a qualified Application Engineer with a strong background in Physical Sciences or Material Engineering and expertise in cleanroom processes. The selected candidate will focus on the design, fabrication, and testing of a magnetic patterning device and apply it for the fabrication of micro solar cells, under the project REMAP – Reusable Mask Patterning funded by HORIZON 2020 / European Innovation Council Pathfinder Open scheme grant no
Job Duties
* Cleanroom fabrication of devices for the generation of two-dimensional magnetic field patterns;
* Test and validate the patterning device;
* Apply the device for the fabrication of micro-scale Cu(In,Ga)Se2 solar cells;
* Project reporting.
Mandatory Qualifications Education
* MSc or PhD Degree in Physics, Material Science, Material Engineering, or similar.
Experience
* Experience in cleanroom fabrication processes, such as thin-film deposition, photolithography, reactive ion etching, metrology;
* Additional relevant experience will be positively evaluated, such as vacuum deposition of semiconductor layers, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, solar cell fabrication and characterization.
Technical Skills
* Solid knowledge and hands-on experience of cleanroom fabrication technologies.
Preferred Qualifications (if applicable)
* Strong background in micro-fabrication technologies, semiconductors, photovoltaics.
