Offer Description Join the Bordeaux Population Health Center (BPH, U1219 Univ. Bordeaux – Inserm) at the University of Bordeaux, one of France's leading centers in population health research (with nearly 500 staff members).
In this position, you will be part of the GHiGS team, one of the 10 research teams at BPH.
The GHiGS team conducts global health research in countries of the Global South, aiming to improve both individual and population health and reduce health inequalities between countries. More information about the team's work can be found here.
As part of two research projects on pediatric tuberculosis, we are hiring a Social Science Research Associate.
The Research Associate will contribute to two synergistic projects within the GHiGS team:
eHealth4ChildTB Project: This project aims to strengthen digital health capabilities within the national tuberculosis programs in Mozambique and Côte d'Ivoire, including patient electronic medical records, digitalized radiography, health literacy, etc.
Decide-TB Project: This project aims to generate evidence on implementing diagnostic and treatment decision algorithms for tuberculosis in children in high-incidence, resource-limited countries, focusing on district hospitals and primary health centers, and facilitating their integration into practices and policies.
Your activities will include:
Participating in the design of the methodological approach for operational research protocol and mixed data collection tools.
Coordinating the conduct of mixed-method data production and collection activities in operational research (in collaboration with research assistants in both countries).
Reviewing and verifying the quality of collected operational research data (in coordination with research assistants in both countries and data managers).
Organizing databases or research corpora (in collaboration with the project leader).
Organizing mixed-method data processing and contributing to the analysis of results.
Writing methodological and analysis reports.
Contributing to the dissemination of protocols and findings to the scientific community (publications, conferences, teaching, training, research reports).
The workload is estimated at 40% for the eHealth4ChildTB project and 60% for the Decide-TB project.
In this role, you will work closely with a variety of stakeholders (French, European, international, and multidisciplinary), facing significant challenges related to implementing innovative interventions in a context of urgent need for international-level evidence.

Skills/Qualifications:
Holding a Master's degree (Bac+5) in Public Health (or Social Sciences), you have at least one year of experience (desired) in managing and implementing public health projects.
You enjoy teamwork, advising, and taking initiative.
You are meticulous, with strong interpersonal skills.
You are proficient in French and English (spoken and written). Portuguese would be an asset.
You are familiar with public health and social science research concepts and methods.
You are skilled in data analysis (quantitative and qualitative), using R and Nvivo.

Fixed-term contract of 9 months starting January 1, 2025.
