Digital Acceleration & AI area within the Business Platform at EDP Customer Solutions in DGU drives digital acceleration by leveraging advanced data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning to optimize business processes, enhance customer experiences, and identify/develop innovative energy solutions that support sustainable growth.

What you will do:
As a Data Scientist, you will develop AI and machine learning models to deliver data-driven solutions that help EDP CS stay ahead in the competitive energy market. Using your expertise in GPT, Azure, MLOps, and Databricks, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the scalability and impact of these solutions across international markets.
Your work will play a key role in accelerating AI adoption and enabling smarter decision-making, shaping the future of energy solutions at EDP CS. Also:
1. Be responsible for identifying, designing, accompanying, developing, and deploying AI-based solutions using various techniques to address business challenges and drive innovation in commercial energy solutions;
2. Analyze and understand business needs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align data strategies with business objectives, optimize processes, and enhance customer experiences;
3. Additionally, you will manage the full lifecycle of AI models, ensuring scalability and integration with platforms like Azure and Databricks to support EDP CS's strategic goals.

What are we looking for:
1. Bachelor's in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field;
2. A master’s or PhD in Data Science, Machine Learning, or Software Engineering is highly valued;
3. Professional experience between 3 - 8 years in roles related to Data Science or Machine Learning Engineering;
4. Proven track record in developing and deploying advanced Machine Learning and Deep Learning models in production environments;
5. Hands-on experience in designing and implementing solutions using GPT or Natural Language Processing (NLP) technologies;
6. Demonstrated expertise in MLOps: building pipelines, implementing continuous integration, and automating processes for model training and deployment;
7. Tools and Technologies:
* Programming languages: Python, R, and common frameworks such as TensorFlow, Keras, Pytorch, Hugging Face, Shiny.
* Familiarity with OpenAI models such as Whisper, GPT, Codex… is required for developing AI-based solutions.
* Cloud platforms: Advanced knowledge of Azure (Azure ML, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse), valuable AWS, or GCP.
* Data infrastructure: Expertise with Databricks, Spark, and relational/non-relational databases.
* Proven experience with foundational models and generative AI tools like OpenAI GPT, ChatGPT, and their integrations.
* MLOps: Familiarity with tools like MLflow, DVC, and orchestrators like Airflow or Kubeflow.
* Data management: Skilled in data cleaning, transformation, and preparation using tools like Pandas, PySpark, or SQL.
* Good security practices in code (using key vaults and protecting sensitive variables such as API keys).
* Extensive use of Azure Machine Learning, Databricks, or similar cloud-based solutions;

2. Critical thinking and problem-solving; Teamwork; Results-oriented; Adaptability and continuous learning; Project management; Other skills required;
3. Excellent written and spoken English is needed. Additional languages are a plus.
