Offer DescriptionRECRUITMENT NOTICE PROJECT TECHNICIAN– FOREST OPERATIONS APPLICATION No. 04/2025 CoLAB ForestWISE is a Collaborative Laboratory focused on forest and fire issues through the development of (co)research, innovation and knowledge transfer and technology activities. Our goal is to promote sustainable forest management in Portugal, enhance the competitiveness of the Portuguese forestry sector, and reduce the negative consequences of large rural fires. Currently, CoLAB ForestWISE leads or participates in large-scale national and international projects with significant impact in the areas of forestry and fire and has been expanding its specialized consulting activities in several areas, such as forest inventory and management consulting and areas related to pest and disease monitoring.
CoLAB ForestWISE opens one position for a PROJECT TECHNICIAN, in the Forestry and Biomass Operations area, in the scope of the transForm Green Agenda - Digital Transformation of the Forestry Sector for a Resilient and Low Carbon Economy, supported by the Component 5 - Promotion of Sustainable Bioeconomy (PRR | C5 Agenda Notice No. 02/C05-i01/2022), through European funds provided to Portugal by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), under the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism (RRM) of the European Union (EU), framed within the Next Generation UE, for the period from 2021-2025.
Position: Project technician in the Forestry and Biomass Operations area, and related areas - one position.
Summary job description: Autonomously carrying out research, creating and transferring knowledge and technology in the forestry operations management field, namely bibliographical research, collecting data in the field on operation times and costs, carrying out statistical analyses of data using different software (R, SPSS or others);To support the development of new digital technologies for planning and monitoring forestry operations, with special emphasis on harvesting and logistics (within the scope of Forest 4.0), together with the companies responsible for their development and end users. This support requires contributing to analysing requirements, carrying out field tests with the selected technologies, supporting demonstrations and collecting data from potential users;Contribute to analysing requirements, carry out field work on productivity with different types of equipment, support demonstrations and collect data from potential users;Prepare progress reports of the above-mentioned activities;Collaborate, whenever necessary, with the other members of the Agenda, namely with companies, academia and public entities for the proper execution of the Agenda's projects;Organise and participate in CoLAB ForestWISE communication, dissemination and knowledge transfer initiatives associated with the project or others that may be relevant to it;Support other project management activities, including technical control and results communication and dissemination;Represent CoLAB ForestWISE when requested.Where to applyE-mail ******

Skills/Qualifications Experience required: Professional experience in one or more of the following areas: forestry operations, logistics and supply chains, operational research, information systems, circular economy;Experience in participating in and/or managing research and/or consultancy projects in collaboration with companies and/or organisations in the national scientific and technological system;Working experience with public and private forestry sector organisations and other forestry sector players in Portugal;Written and oral proficiency in Portuguese and English (level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference).Office skills and statistical analysis software.Personal skills: Organisational skills and working methods;Proactivity and ability to identify improvements in the various information flows;Ease and good integration in teamwork;Ease of dealing with different interlocutors;Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;Excellent writing and summarising skills;Proactivity in resolving the organisation's daily issues;Availability and flexible working hours.Specific Requirements: If the qualification has been acquired by a foreign higher education institution it must be recognised by a Portuguese higher education institution, under the terms of Decree-Law No. 341/2007, of 12 October, regulated by Order No. 227/2017, of 25 July and updated by Decree-Law No. 66/2018, published in the Diário da República (1st Series, No. 157, of 16 August 2018), having any formalities established in this document be complied with by the effective date of the hiring.

Additional InformationThe candidate to be hired will be entitled to an employment contract, with a fixed monthly salary between the TRU15 and TRU32 levels, to be defined according to the curriculum vitae and experience presented and proven.
