Job Summary
The Telephonic Interpreter for Krio will handle telephone calls on demand and facilitate language communication for the Limited English Proficient (LEP) community in medical, legal, and customer service settings. The interpreter can be based in the US or internationally.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide effective telephonic remote interpreting
* Answer inbound calls in a timely manner
* Deliver superior customer service
* Maintain strict standards of confidentiality as per the Code of Professional Conduct
* FOLLOW all policies and procedures, including professional interpretation protocols and industry-specific best practices
* Complete training(s) and participate in ongoing Quality Assurance monitoring
Requirements
* Full fluency in both English and Krio
* Proficiency in technology (web-based platforms, email, Microsoft Word)
* Access to a landline phone for sound quality
* A quiet, secure, and noise-free interpreting space
* Minimum 2 years of professional interpreting experience
* Industry-specific certifications/trainings are preferred (CMI, CCHI, etc.)
* Proof of 40+ hour medical interpreting training is preferred (ex: Bridging the Gap, Cross-Cultural, etc.)
