Construction Mechanical Supervisor - Machinery

Each Supervisor reports to the Construction Manager.
They direct Subcontractor activities for their own discipline, ensuring that Plant Construction works are performed according to the erection schedules and Project documents, within the assigned cost budget, and according to Quality & Safety procedures, as well as according to the terms and conditions of the subcontract.
One or more assistants may support them.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Prior to the start of works, check the Supplier’s material and technical documentation delivery schedule. Ensure that it is in line with Construction schedules and contractual commitments.
2. Prior to the start of works, control and approve the Method Statements submitted by the Subcontractors, ensuring their correct application on the field.
3. Ensure the implementation of all the HSE procedures and standards for the areas or activities (subcontractors) of responsibilities.
4. Participate in the HSE activities at site as defined for their position in the Site HSE plan and related procedures.
5. Check that the schedule is adhered to and promote action to recover any delays.
6. Check that the equipment and manpower employed by the Subcontractor are adequate and that the works performed conform to design documents, Safety regulations, and the Quality level fixed by the same.
7. Perform inspections and sign the necessary certificates as per Site Inspection Plans.
8. Prepare the non-conformity register for each Subcontractor and coordinate nonconformity resolution.
9. Detect any design errors and, where possible, rectify them or request the Site Engineer to make the necessary changes.
10. Check Subcontractors’ work progress status sheets and sign them for approval.
11. Assist the Contract Manager/Engineer in defining new prices, preparing amendments to subcontracts, and analyzing and discussing claims.

Person Specification:
Knowledge & Qualifications:
University Degree or Diploma in relevant discipline or equivalent.
Experience:
Similar role covered in at least the last three projects of comparable size; Proven past experience on Civil and Building construction activities; Strong knowledge of SPMAT (Marian); Relevant experience in construction/modernization of industrial/Refinery sector/EPC projects large plants; At least 5 years of experience in the specific discipline; Experience working on Contractor side.
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent IT and analytical skills; Excellent communications, team-oriented and interpersonal skills; Self-motivation and direction, with a strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
