The Role
As a Head of Technology for Flywheel Technology, you will work closely with partners to prioritise, create, and own roadmaps for Engineering teams. You'll collaborate with technology teams across different locations and time zones to create a vision for your area of responsibility.
You will promote a culture of openness and clear feedback. You'll enable your teams to deliver high-quality, scalable software and emphasize Operational Excellence. Working closely with other Heads within FanDuel, you'll help solve cross-vertical problems by designing and developing capabilities that fulfil overlapping needs.
Specifically, you will lead a matrixed team of leaders focused on Racing, Fantasy, Free to Play (F2P), and Generosity functions. You will collaborate on the roadmap and work with senior stakeholders and technology leaders to ensure end-to-end capabilities are realised.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivery:
o Develop cross-domain and sub-domain strategies to reduce bottlenecks and inefficiencies while promoting collaboration.
o Produce and deliver a strategic, technical vision while identifying gaps in ownership and negotiating who'll own them going forward.
o Define and deliver area strategy/vision for the next two years.
o Engage with colleagues inside and outside technology and with different ways of working to ensure complex and cross-functional initiatives are delivered, dependencies are managed, and continuous improvement is prioritised.
* Responsible for ensuring effective operational support in conjunction with all partners integrated with our Service Operations support organisation and customer support.
Stakeholder Management
* Partner with commercial, risk, and product stakeholders to build and balance backlogs as well as roadmaps for our products.
* Collaborate with Tech Strategy and Principal partners to ensure architecturally appropriate solutions are delivered.
* Manage a significant budget (in terms of finance & people) and find the best synergies and optimise the efficiency of your teams.
* Collaborate with Flutter Group divisions on large strategic initiatives that exceed FanDuel scope.
People
* Attract the best talent into the tribe.

* Liaise with partners and regulatory bodies to establish and follow an effective release process.
Requirements
* A proven track record building and effectively delivering through teams in a collaborative manner.
* Experience defining and executing a strategic vision, working collaboratively and in partnership with stakeholders on shared goals.
* Focus on continuous improvement and stakeholder management to ensure the department operates effectively.
* Experience defining and implementing software delivery best practices, agile delivery methodologies, and a proven track-record of continuously improving delivery pace while maintaining quality.
* Experience delivering technology solutions for internal customer-facing products in a high-energy, ambiguous environment.
* Experience supporting teams with software systems in production including on-call support with a relentless focus on improving the stability, availability, and performance of those systems.
