ABOUT US:
TUMO is a creative technologies center founded in Armenia, now present in over 10 countries. Aimed at young people aged 12 to 18, TUMO complements formal education by offering opportunities to develop skills in areas such as Music, Robotics, Animation, Game Development, Programming, Photography, Cinema, and Graphic Design. Each student follows a personalized learning path based on their progress and interests, guided by learning coaches and experts.
TUMO is completely free of charge for its students, made possible by our generous donors and partners. Our mission is to promote upward social mobility and accelerate social growth in Portugal.
The first TUMO center in Portugal opened in Coimbra in September 2023, and a second opened in Lisbon in September 2024, each serving 1,500 students. We are now currently expanding our new TUMO center to Porto district.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Marketing and Communication Specialist is responsible for shaping how TUMO engages with its community, ensuring a strong presence across digital platforms and outreach activities. This role plays an essential part in promoting TUMO’s programs, engaging with schools, and enhancing the visibility of the center through creative content and events. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the challenges of communicating to different audiences and who will be enthusiastic with us about the potential of our learning environment!
The main responsibilities include:
* Create and develop content: Produce graphic and audiovisual content for digital platforms, including the website and social media, as well as for physical formats, ensuring TUMO’s communication is visually appealing and aligned with its mission;
* Manage social media calendars: Plan, schedule, and maintain a calendar of social media posts to ensure consistent and strategic content delivery across all platforms;
* Website content management: Regularly update the website with fresh and engaging content that reflects TUMO’s activities and achievements;
* Event collaboration: Support the planning and execution of local events that promote TUMO and its mission such as school visits, ensuring they are effectively communicated and visually compelling;
* Performance monitoring: Track and analyze the performance of social media campaigns, identifying trends and opportunities to enhance engagement and reach;
* Audiovisuals: Capture high-quality photos and videos of ongoing activities, events, and student projects for use on social media and promotional materials;
* General center involvement: Participate in the daily operations of the TUMO center, supporting the team as needed to ensure smooth functioning of the center.
WHAT YOU BRING:
* Educational Background: Design, Multimedia, or a related field;
* Digital Communication Experience: Prior contact in digital communication, including social media management and content production;
* Software Skills: Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere, with a willingness to improve. Any exposure to After Effects or similar motion graphics software is a bonus;
* Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Portuguese and English;
* Multimedia Content Editing: Competence in editing multimedia content, including text, images, and videos;
* Visual Aesthetics: A keen aesthetic sense and the ability to communicate this through visual design;
* Marketing Insight: Familiarity with digital marketing concepts and a desire to expand knowledge of tools and platforms like social media, email marketing, and analytics;
* Social Media Management: Understanding of social media platforms and a strong interest in learning how to manage accounts, with a focus on improving engagement and growing audience reach;
* Personal Traits: A dynamic and proactive personality, with a strong sense of responsibility, self-motivation, and commitment to the project.
