Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Telephonic Interpreter for Japanese to join our network of Independently Contracted Interpreters.
The successful candidate will be responsible for handling telephone calls on demand and facilitating language communication for the Limited English Proficient (LEP) community in various settings, including medical, legal, and customer service.
Responsibilities:
* Provide effective telephonic remote interpreting services
* Respond promptly to inbound calls
* Deliver superior customer service
* Maintain confidentiality and adhere to our Code of Professional Conduct
* Follow all policies and procedures, including professional interpretation protocols and industry best practices
* Complete training programs and participate in ongoing Quality Assurance monitoring
Requirements:
* Full fluency in both English and Japanese
* Proficiency in technology, including web-based platforms, email, and Microsoft Word
* A quiet, secure, and noise-free workspace with landline phone access
* A minimum of 2 years of professional interpreting experience
* Industry-specific certifications or trainings are preferred
* Proof of 40+ hour medical interpreting training is preferred
