About Cloud & Network Services
Cloud and Network Services is a leading Nokia business group that offers Network solutions on Core, Business and Enterprise segments, as well as Cloud solutions and Cognitive Services. The business group includes most of the former Nokia Software business, Nokia’s enterprise solutions, core network solutions including both voice and packet core, and managed and advanced services from its former Global Services unit. This unit will also act as a delivery channel of certain products from other business groups to enterprise customers. Cloud and Network Services (CNS) will target growth by leveraging the industry transition to cloud-based delivery, network-as-a-service business models, and software-led value creation.
Job Description
We are looking for talented individuals with passion to develop high quality applications using the latest tools and technologies for our R&D Centre located in Kuala Lumpur. You will be part of our highly skilled and innovative agile team working in close cooperation with other R&D and service teams. The successful candidates should possess the desire to work within a role that will push and challenge you whilst affording you the opportunity to work across the full software development life cycle using agile methodology. Knowledge and experience of provisioning & activation, fulfillment, telecommunication protocols would be a distinct advantage.
Key Responsibilities
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
1. Undertake a variety of tasks including analysis, estimating, design, coding, testing, and documentation.
2. Evaluation of technical feasibility.
3. Implementation of new features and defect fixing.
4. Writes and verifies code which adheres to the acceptance criteria.
5. Application of product development best practices.
6. Refactoring existing software and continuous improvement of code quality.
7. Automation of testing (CI/CD).
Qualifications
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication or related fields.
2. 1-2 years of experience in software development setup and telecommunications domain (ie. orchestration, slicing).
3. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
Competence And Skills
1. Experience in Java software development, scripting languages (Javascript, Jexl, shell).
2. Experience in BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) is a plus.
3. Know-how in Java technologies, frameworks, JUnit and IDEs such as Eclipse, Camunda.
4. Intermediate knowledge of Databases (MariaDB, Apache Cassandra).
5. Intermediate knowledge of Linux operating system, Cloud Services Platform (AWS, Azure) and Cloud-native containers/framework (Docker, Kubernetes, etc).
6. Understands the different network technologies and protocols: TCP/IP, HTTP, Rest.
7. Domain knowledge in Radio Access Network (RAN) Slicing and orchestration are advantageous.
8. Familiar with software engineering processes including version control (Git), build tools (Maven), automated testing (Jenkins, Postman/Newman) and release cycles.
9. Familiar with modern Agile software development methodologies such as Scrum/XP/Kanban.
10. Ability to work under pressure and take an analytical approach to problem solving.
11. Good written and spoken English.
12. Ability to understand, explain and address problems quickly and effectively.
13. Genuine interest in technology, software development as well as high levels of self-motivation.
