Researcher in Econometrics and Data Science

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Collect, process, and analyse large volumes of economic structured and unstructured data from various sources such as government reports, financial institutions, and international organisations. This data may include costs related to the entire lifecycle of a product, including initial investment, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
2. Develop and apply LCC, CBA, and other relevant models to evaluate the total cost of ownership of a project over its entire lifecycle.
3. Incorporate big data analytics to enhance the accuracy and depth of LCC and CBA models, and other relevant models.
4. Perform policy analyses and policy recommendations for different fields and projects.
5. Lead bespoke research for our projects.
6. Perform data analysis and visualisations using Excel or other tools (e.g., Tableau, R).
7. Prepare technical reports (deliverables), peer-reviewed articles, white papers, briefings, and other materials on all aspects of sustainability.
8. Make presentations at national and international workshops and conferences.
9. Mapping of EU & PT funding opportunities.
10. Contribute to the design of project proposals and write new R&D project proposals (e.g., Horizon Europe).
REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s in econometrics and data science; Bachelor’s in economics and statistical analysis with a Master’s in data science; Bachelor’s in applied mathematics and data science with a Master’s in economics.
2. Flawless knowledge of English (spoken and written).
3. Proactive, self-motivated, and result-orientated with a problem-solving mindset and strong team-working capability but is also able to work autonomously and creatively to solve problems independently.
4. Strong drive to learn new topics and skills and develop innovative insights.
5. Availability and willingness to travel abroad for meetings and events.
DESIRABLE:
1. Publications in the fields of econometrics, data science, social sciences, policy analysis, sustainability analysis, and geopolitics.
2. Awareness of the health, environmental, economic, and social aspects of value chains.
3. Experience with EU projects.
