Job Overview
The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) works as direct interface and key contact towards TE’s Supply Base. Responsible for continuous Quality Performance improvements, ensures that Suppliers fulfil ISO9001and IATF 16949 as well as TE specific requirements.
The SQE will be acting as ASQ (Advanced Supplier Quality) and manage Supplier APQP process. Start from supplier Technical & Feasibility review to Supplier PPAP Approval, following by the Supplier Safe Launch process. Holds main interface / key contact with the supplier base during pre-serial stages.
The SQE will be acting as SDE (Supplier Development Engineer) and is owner of Supplier Development Program and Supplier Onboarding process for Quality topics.
SQE is expert to suppliers in QMS (ISO 9001/IATF16949), LEAN Tools, Problem Solving Tools, TE System. SQE will support Procurement in Supplier Cost Improvement Workshops.
SQE ensures a proper communication and supports cross functional activities at our external suppliers.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Quality Key Contact and Account owner for assigned suppliers/commodities:
2. Define and track Performance Agreements
3. Define Supplier Improvement Plans, Supplier Escalation Process (e.g. Focus Supplier Programs, etc)
4. Organize and Perform Suppliers Scorecard Reviews, Business Reviews, Complaint reviews and other management reviews
5. Supports IQE (Incoming Quality Engineer):
6. - with Escalation on Complaint Handling
7. - with Charge Back process
8. Lead Audits at suppliers per the Supplier Audit Plan.
9. Supports Supplier Selection and Approval Business Process
10. Perform Potential Analysis at new suppliers
11. Training Experts and owner of Supplier Onboarding Process for Quality.
12. Verifies CQI certifications and support suppliers for System Development according to IATF
13. Supports Supplier Cost related Improvement Workshops in collaboration with Procurement
14. Supports the APQP Process with assigned suppliers/commodities:
15. Involved on sourcing decisions and participate on sourcing meetings
16. Performs Technical and Feasibility review
17. Supports the PPAP process with Suppliers
18. Responsible for Safe launch definition and tracking at Suppliers
19. Defines Quality Inspection Plan Criteria for incoming inspection along with IQE
20. Responsible for Run @ Rate events at suppliers
21. Responsible for the Complaint Handling / Problem Solving (8D’s) / Chargeback process until exiting Safe Launch period.
What your background should look like:
22. Fluent English and French
23. Expert Knowledge on ISO900 VDA 6.3., IATF16949, ISO 14000 and other Automotive Standards is a plus
24. Certified (supplier) auditor or VDA 6.3 / IATF 16949 2nd party auditor
25. Working Knowledge on specific product and process as required (e.g. Molding, Stamping, …)
26. Be familiar with the tools related to supplier APQP process, include but not limit to APQP, PPAP, FMEA, CP, MSA, SPC, R@R and 8D.
27. Ability to work across cultures and countries effectively.
28. Thorough knowledge of Problem-Solving tools (5-Why, Ishikawa/Fishbone Diagrams, Fault Tree Analysis)
29. Process and System Auditor Skills mandatory
30. SAP basic knowledge
31. Knowledge in Geometric Dimensioning &Tolerancing (GD&T) and Advance knowledge reading technical drawings and specifications
