Automation Engineer
We are seeking an Automation Engineer to join our Operations Development Department. This role involves driving efficiency and innovation within the department, simplifying and automating processes to achieve operational excellence.
Closely collaborating with specialists, this engineer will identify and implement opportunities for machine improvements in areas such as quality, scrap reduction, performance optimization, and preventive/predictive maintenance strategies.
* Carry out, organise and manage daily technical and technological development tasks within the Operations Development Department.
* Plan and coordinate project activities, including software design, coding, testing, and deployment.
* Conduct code and design reviews to maintain high development standards and practices.
* Liaise with external partners for technology development tasks.
* E nsure documentation of tasks and changes implemented.
* Support the Operations Development Team in troubleshooting and ensuring continued production/Machine availability.
* Support the troubleshooting and operation of technical systems used in new production equipment and acquire necessary skills.
* Manage and coordinate projects relating to PLC controlled production machines equipped with vision and robot systems.
* Budget solutions.
* Prepare and publish reports on technological development tasks.
* Self-training and active participation in training courses organised by the Plant, applying knowledge acquired in daily work.
Minimum Requirements:
* Degree in Electrotechnics or Automation, minimum 5 years of work experience in a related position.
* Good communication skills, both written and spoken, in English (B1 – Intermediate level).
* Experience in maintaining automated industrial machines.
* Project Management experience is a plus.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Good communications skills and a team player.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (electrical, mechanical).
* Knowledge of PLC programming in at least one of the following technologies: RS Logix 5000, Studio 5000, CX Programmer, Simatic Step 7, Sigma Drives, Kinetix, Accurax, Indramat, Elau, Trio.
* Able to install and uninstall electrical components.
* HMI knowledge is preferred.
* Knowledge of interpreting pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams is preferred.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
