PagerDuty is looking for an Automation Engineer to join the Enterprise Applications team within the CIO organization. As an Automation Engineer, you will be playing a critical role in driving digital transformation and operational efficiency at PagerDuty. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions. You will also be responsible for identifying the right technology platforms, designing workflows, and identifying needed integrations of our Go-To-Market, Finance, and HR systems. You will work closely with business and technology teams across the organization to drive automation and efficiency improvements to ensure high adoption and success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Architect and implement sophisticated automation workflows using automation technologies
2. Design and develop intelligent bots and scripts for process automation
3. Integrate automation solutions with existing enterprise systems through APIs and web services
4. Establish robust testing frameworks and quality assurance processes
5. Create and maintain SOX-compliant deployment processes
6. Monitor and optimize bot performance and efficiency
7. Develop comprehensive documentation for technical specifications and workflows
8. Lead continuous improvement initiatives for automated processes
9. Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and implement automation opportunities
10. Stay ahead of emerging RPA & GenAI technologies and industry trends
11. Contribute to the organization's automation strategy and roadmap
12. Mentor team members on automation best practices.
Skills and Attributes:
1. Proven track record of delivering complex automation projects
2. Strong business acumen and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
3. Excellence in stakeholder management and communication
4. Innovation mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
Basic Qualifications:
1. Proven expertise in major Automation platforms (Workato, UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Blue Prism)
2. Strong programming skills in Ruby, Python, C#, Java, or VBScript
3. Advanced knowledge of API integration and web services
4. Experience with process analysis and optimization
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience working in SOX-compliant public companies
2. Certification in major Automation platforms
3. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field is preferred
4. Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
5. Experience with enterprise system integration
6. Background in process mining and analytics
7. Knowledge of virtual agents and building apps using no code platforms
